Just want to wish everyone heading to Frederick, MD this weekend for the Cochins International Eastern National Meet a great show! Have fun, and take lots of photos!!
the parents of the birds you have now were black mottled and splash, right? that means all your birds are blue split mottled.I've got 3 blue pullets and a cockerel that carry the mottled gene. The father was a black mottled and mother was a splash. Will I get any blak mottled or what will I get?
You are not working on Mille Fleurs any more?LOL - I'm just a gluten for punishment.![]()
I thought the best chance to get mottled out of that bunch is to breed the Black Mottled male to the Pullets.I've been asking who's going... I wanted to go. I still want to go, I should say.
As far as I read, and I could be wrong, as long as both the father and mother carry it, they could produce mottling. Since, in this case, one parent was and one parent was not mottled and none of the offspring show it, one or more could carry a single mottled gene.
