Cockatoos which ones for me?

I originally wanted a umbrella or Moluccan cockatoo but am wondering if a sulfur would be a better fit. Can you guys explain the differences?

I am extremely tolerant to noise and when I move in a few years an planning on living alone with a friendly breed of Cockatoo to keep me entertained. If you guys would like to ask more questions I would be happy to answer so I can come to the best conclusion possible and know a lot about this species!

Honestly, we'd need to know more before we could tell you which is right for you. Umbrellas and Moluccans are really, REALLY high maintenance birds. Like, plan on pretty much revolving your life around your new infant who will never, ever grow out of it.
Have you ever kept a parrot before? What kind? What did and didn't you like about it?

Cockatoos are sweet and cuddly and popular - also incredibly likely to be re-homed, pluck feathers and end up spending their lives at a rescue. Males can be really aggressive if they decide they're your mate. I've had one fly at my face to punish me. Thank goodness I wear glasses!!

Basically, a big bird is a really, really big decision, and takes a couple of years of research and some serious soul searching and lifestyle evaluation

It will be a few years before I actually get one cause I’m going to move before. I will live alone volunteer at a parrot place I’m thinking of one that’s pretty close so I can learn to understand them more. I don’t have experience owning one but have met many and learned a lot of how there feeling by behavior. I understand the commitment it take especially to have this species. I would never take an animal until I know I can handle them and give them the care they need so they will never end up being rehomed again. I understand plucking is a problem in the species and have looked up what a good meal for them and how to keep them safe and happy. I have watched many videos on YouTube of people talking about there experiences and why you shouldn’t get them. I am hoping for a female I didn’t know males did that but was still thinking about female anyways. I have lots of chickens I don’t know if that helps but polish are pretty high maintenance but I know I can’t put my part forward to make sure they are cared for correctly. I promise I will not but before I am ready and am planning on having them be like a toddler to me.

Cockatoos are dusty aswell but Ive always wanted a citron cockatoo seen one at a petstore years ago was friendly by time I went back was gone already Cant even find breeders for them

I have no problem with mess either I live on a dairy for and have chickens so I am used to poop I am moving and only having the chicken and no cows when I move

Did you check Facebook there’s a page that has a buying in rehoming that makes me pretty sad that someone would do that to a bird that’s been with them for most of the time years...

Why don't you try a smaller type of parrot?
Cockatiels, Budgies, and Sun/Green Cheek Conure's are really good birds, and even songbirds like Finches and Canaries are adorable, loving and playful little birds!
