Cocke County TN Poultry SHow Nov 8

Tell me when your going (what time) and I'll be there.
I might as well, it's only 15 min down the road from me!

I have so much work to do, but I'll make time to go down there for an hour for sure!!!

I definitely have 2 d'Uccles and a silkie in the show. Not sure if we'll take them in tonight or early tomorrow morning. But we'll be there at 9am when they start the judging.

I've never been to the fairgrounds in Newport before. Where's a good place to meet? I can PM you my cell # and you can use that to hook up, if you want.

And onyone else who's going, PM me and I can send you the #, too. I'd love to meet BYC folks in the real world. Then DH can quit calling you all my imaginary electronic friends

As far as I know none of us will be going but I haven't talked to anybody on our group about it though--Wish I could go. We are just getting started so right now everybody is mostly connected on the internet via our group and email and of course---BYC !!!! Would love to get some of you guys from East and Middle Tennessee in our group too so that you could share info about events and anything else with us. So far we don't have that many members but the ones that are there already are great!!! Check us out

Thanks a lot and like Timbo said please take some pics and post them if you can-- Have fun--Wayne

Also if the gas keeps going down maybe we can afford to go a little farther.

Hate it that you can't be there, but I totally understand about the gas thing.

I will definitely take the camera. We took my birds there this evening and they had a lot of cages ready but only about 1/10 filled. Still, there were already some pretty birds. Didn't get to look as long as I wanted because there were cranky teens in the car.

I plan on arriving around 8:30 tomorrow morning and staying in the area most of the day. They had some cute items for the silent auction. Have no idea what else will be on the fairgrounds.

I do have to get up early, but don't think I'll be there that early.. in fact I thought this was on SUNDAY!!! maybe fashionably late is more my thing. I'll call you when we're leaving.

Truly.. had to drive to knoxville tonight and I would've missed it if I hadn't driven by the fairgrounds and saw that it was tomorrow NOT sunday!

Nope, it's today, Nov 8, Saturday

I'll be wearing a plain brown l/s t-shirt and an earth-tone Indian blanket print jacket. The BYC shirts are all dirty and no one did laundry last night.

Hope to see you there!!

OK, will post pics later on, after dinner. Just haven't gotten around to unloading them from the camera yet.

The self-blue non-bearded Silkie cockeral got 1st in his category.
My 2 Mille Fleur d'Uccles pullets got 1st & 2nd, but there were the only millies in the show so it doesn't mean as much.

Before the Silkie was even judged my daughter swapped him for a 3+ year old frizzle roo she fell in love with outside the show, at the poultry sale.
So we have our first 'outsider' chicken ever in quarantine.
And I have a very smug 12-year old daughter who's very pelased that she traded her cantankerous cockeral for a roo that seems to love being hugged and cuddled.

And I did get to meet bodyflight and her DH! Yay!!!

I went!!!
