My 11 year old daughter raised her OEGB as a pet. A couple weeks ago, as she was picking up a friendly pullet, he flew/ran at her. It scared her because a much bigger rooster had done it a while back. (He has a new home as a flock protector) I told her that she shouldn't run. If he comes at you put your foot out and shove him backwards, stand your ground. The next time he did it, she turned to run, then remembered. He no longer charges her, and she still picks him up to pet him. He seems even calmer with the no crow collar he got yesterday.
I know a bantam is much smaller, but it could work. With a big boy, I would use a broom instead of your foot.
Good luck!

I'd be afraid to move too, with that around my neck.
Calmer towards people. He and the bantam barred rock cockrel fought like they just met. Blueberry won of course. (OE) He thinks he is two feet tall.
Valentine, (standard EE) and Blueberry have quite loud crows. I am sure my neighbors appreciate the lack of loud crows this morning. We live in town.
