Cockerel or Pullet Wyandotte/Ameracauna breed

Ok friends, this chicken is driving me nuts. So apparently a tail is coming in. Whereas I thought we were dealing with Arancauna and rumpless, a tail is def coming through. Is the thought still cockerel??
Cockerel.

Maybe he has a tail because he's a crossbreed? Or maybe he actually is an Ameraucana/Wyandotte instead of an araucana/Wyandotte.

Still a cockerel (the coloring really is an accurate tell on him) and probably much younger than you were told. He looks like he's having a juvenile molt and I'd guess 10-12 weeks in the first photos.

BTW, it could be that the person who gave him away has a poor sense of time and honestly thought he was a pullet. But, it's not uncommon for people to unload their unwanted cockerels by being dishonest their about age/gender.

X2 unfortunately. I know this is a chicken, and the stuff below is about ducks, but I'm gonna say it anyway! A few weeks ago, I saw someone trying to sell a mallard as a female. It was clearly a drake! It even had the bright green head! Either those people have no idea what they are saying, they thought it was a girl because it sounded different from their other males, or they are purposely trying to dump an unwanted male duck on some poor un-knowing soul. God bless!

Thanks so much for all the help. I can obviously see his saddle
Feathers now and he is starting to grow in some hackle feathers as well. I’m actually not as disappointed. I have an Ameracauna hen and would love to have some chicks to extend my flock and cull a few that have needed to go for some time. It’s not so bad after all.
