Nice, I like the blue eggs. I've got one that lays a pale blue/green one, but haven't a clue who it is. I bought a Wyze camera on Tonya's recommendation to put in my old coop to see who's still active in there. Not many of them are. I'd say max 10 out of 37. The only problem is that it won't be wifi capable because it's too far away. From what I read I can still record, though.

She is a beautiful hen @Meg-in-MT. I love her muffs.

I had an EE hen given to me by a friend who lays beautiful light blue green eggs. I was hoping to cross her with my Amish barnyard mixes but all of her eggs are infertile. Since I know my roosters aren't shooting blanks as I have hatched chicks from other hens. Sad for her.

I have 4 little SDW OEGB cockerels that hatched last summer. If I stuck a camera in their faces they would either try to peck it, try to sit on it or try to mate it. Yeah, not worth it to find out.

Thank you :)

That's interesting...I wonder why her eggs aren't fertile. Have you seen them mate with her?

That's funny about the cockerels. A video of any of the possibilities would be worth watching :gig

Snapped another chicken portrait last night. View attachment 2019752
Poor girls probably don't know what to think of me sticking a camera in their face :p

Penny did you say you picked up a couple more girls at the auction the other day?
That's an awesome picture :) don't think any of ours would let us do that.

Mine do not seem to have muffs on the cheeks.. We have ended up with the main percolator dying on us so get to go to town as in 35 miles one way but also my daily meds are waiting at wally will take a bit before we can go still .. The darn thing is just like maybe 4 years old :th

Yeah, the 4 boys are a hoot. They usually fly up and roost on my head or shoulders while I do chores. Last night I had 3 of them crawling on me. #4 was pecking the little chickens on my sloggers. I'm glad they like me, sometimes I just wish they didn't like me so much.

As for Cleo, oh yes, she is a party favorite. I've seen mated by several of my larger roosters...successfully. Not so successful by my smaller boys. I was hoping to hatch some eggs from her after putting her with my Fayoumi rooster for a week or two but with every egg I've stuck under being clear, don't see that changing as she is 2 now. I thought about maybe sticking an egg in my Brinsea once she starts laying again. Goof ball is molting...in FEBRUARY? I mean really?

So what are y'all planning for dinner tonight? I have black bean with onions on simmering in the crock pot. Not dried. I cheated and used canned as it was a last minute decision and too late to soak.

will add some cornbread and voila! Dinner.

@Grammy60.

what is the story behind the little guy or gal in your avatar? what a cutie!

Yeah, I know, the 'w' is still acting funky on this keypad. New one is on the docket....after the new hot water heater......

Y'know, this being an adult has been a kick but I'd like to be a kid again and let the grown ups handle all of this 'replacement' stuff, please thank you?
