Have never seen homemade with nooks and crannies as good as some commercially made ones.

Dogs wanted out this morning at pre-dawn when the last star is fading from the sky and the sun is hinting its arrival with the first coloring barely visible behind the mountain ridge. The sky is an indescribable color: Is it blue-gray? Is it silver? Tints of apricot? It is this moment of the hour when flocks of hundreds of crows travel north. Where they are going and where they came from, I haven't a clue...but I marvel daily at the wondrous sight of their black silhouettes against the early morning's sky as they caw onward before the rooster's revelry.
