Good morning, Club. Thanks for the coffee, IM and Shad. I'll need it as I agreed to go to work today to work on finishing up a wiring harness I started.

I already posted this at the other coffee shop but had to brag up my former boy a little here too! :love I always liked him and toyed seriously with keeping a third male but common sense always prevails with me and I let him go. He's not yet 7 months old...

Hi Tonya, just wanted to tell you that Sarge is a hero.. We had a hawk fly into the chicken coop last Sunday. (never in our 9 years having chickens has this ever happened) Sarge and our Olive fought off the hawk in the coop so the other girls could hide. Art ran into the coop and was able to grab the hawk and throw it outside. Unfortunately the hawk killed our Olive. She was the new head hen and we miss her very much but Sarge was able to save the other girls. He had no injuries. We looked him all over. The other girls are fine as well. We are very grateful that Sarge was here and can't imagine what could have happened to the other girls if we didn't have him.
TY -Art and Karen
That's too bad about Olive, but could've been worse. So glad to hear that Sarge is doing his duty! Nice to know that he went to some people who really care about him.

Yes, I have arthritis in my hands. The quilting helps keep them moving. My right thumb is enlarged from it.
I had to quit knitting because it hurt my hands too much, caused significant flareups.

Let us know if the gloves help.

Who was it said they had used the copper gloves with success, but it took awhile?
Did you have to wear them 24/7 and for how long before you got relief?

Gonna jump on the tractor and clear the driveway...
...sun is out, snow is over(I think).

-18 here this morning when I forced myself out of bed and made a line straight to the coffee pot.

I don't think I could physically or mentally tolerate living in an ultra cold climate like Alaska or Northern Canada. I'd be clawing the walls to get outside.

On the bright side they are predicting the upper 40s by Sunday so the 5 inches of snow will go away.

He could also have just given the normal peck to the head the way his father and Capitan did to him. But he attacked it.
Did you see the video of the rooster in a coop attacking a hawk? He wouldn't let up even though it got down to just him and the hawk with the head hen occasionally running in and giving a head shot or two.
I did see it. I've seen a few being a bit of a rooster fan.:)
A couple I've watched were definitely set up.
Good for Sarge anyway. Best part is the people who took him on seem to like and value him. Now that's a result.:ya

I start whinging if the temperature drops below 20C.:p

Finally got all the damaged fencing from the landslides down. Need to take a trip North to get some more 100mm diameter straining posts to make repairs. The herb garden wall is busted. It wants some gambion stone baskets to make a decent repair.
When I've cut half a meter or so into the sheep field bank there might just be enough solid ground to get a skid loader up to clear away behind the sheep shed.
