Those who undertake puppies, I salute you! They have a lot of energy. I know at this age and stage I probably couldn't keep up... Or I'd be down for the count napping when they do, both of us collapsing mid-stride on the floor into slumber when the batteries ran out.

In all fairness, though, the puppies I've had the pleasure of raising have all been high-energy dogs: A schipperke, a greyhound, and a greyhound/weimaraner cross that fetched the ball all day long. Very rewarding raising them and fun to see their personalities develop. Nowadays, though, I prefer adopting older dogs (and a few seniors) that are content to snooze a bit and don't require too watchful of an eye.

Sour -- Where's the pictures?

Pictures ? Who me ? :lau We really were planning on adopting an older dog needing a home for no fault of its own. If you read the history of most of them, there is a reason they are needing a home. Plus many of the adoption groups are unrealistic in their requirements,

Thanks for the coffee - I need it. Penny, it's my turn. Maggie Mae complained off and on during the night from her crate, and at 6 I gave in and got up. Took her outside, and she peed immediately. Fed her waited 15 minutes, took her outside and she pooped. Did not pee in her crate last night. Wait a minute. Isn't this the Princess's dog ? Why is she still sleeping? Gotta say it is fun having a pup in the house again.

Same here half the time he finds me out like a light so takes Puglsy then.
Morning club had my two cups but did bring another pot

Having said that, I have been not exactly resentful but if the house is messy it’s the woman’s fault, no matter who made the mess.
My in laws were the ones with the antiseptic perfectly straight houses. I imagine they all had stuff to say when DH married an outdoor cat instead of an orderly indoor cat!
Well, when I say messy, I mean I need to dust the doors and windowsills as well as the furniture. The kitchen is a mess right now, I need to go over the cabinet doors with a rag and sweep and mop the floor. I have two dogs who shed on the beige carpet, so that needs to be vacuumed and maybe shampooed. My mostly wood floors need to be mopped and polished. I need to do laundry and clean the office- I have a ton of papers that need shredded and taken out. I am not talking about clothes on the couch and floor, dirty dishes throughout the house kind of messy. Truthfully, I, like my mother, can tolerate a little messiness in order to enjoy life.
One of my antiseptic aunts, in her 90's, finally said that when it was all said and done, no one cared if the house was swept daily.
This from a woman who used to wake us up at the crack of dawn with the toilet brush and we had to clean and scour the bathrooms before breakfast. She vacuumed the closets daily. She had her extra pillows in plastic bags hanging from hangers in a walk in closet. She swept and mopped the kitchen floor twice a day.
Her daughter finally told me, after all these years, she envied me my mother who was so much fun and not so concerned about the house being perfect. Made my day.

Ma was fussy but Grandma was no slouch we would attack the farmhouse together singing gospel along the way all hardwood floors there .. I try to keep it clean but a bit more slack have the dyson that makes it all prettty easy

Haha! Hanging the pillows and vacuuming the closets says to me she’s been through a mice or rat infestation or two! No fun either way!
My in laws weren’t that obsessive. They just had nice furniture and nothing else. No books, no sewing projects nothing indicating anyone was interested in anything. They sat on the furniture with their feet on the floor and watched tv.
