I just put some Chase and Sanborn on, so I hope everyone is OK with drinking that brand! I only put a few cups on though, since I have to go to work soon. Scoop, maybe you could put on another pot!

Sissy, I see you live in Sevier (sp?) County. We were going to go there on vacation a few years ago, but never quite made it there yet. We did drive to Nashville though.

Yesterday was busy for us - we had a lot of errands to run, so I didn't get to spend much time in the coop. I did check on my FOUR broody mommas when it was dark out. They've been sitting on those eggs for awhile, so I just wanted to find out what was going on! It was like tending to a flock of snakes, so I'm glad I chose to wear gardening gloves. I was fending for myself while holding a flashlight. At least 2 were hatching, and then all of a sudden a chick was standing there! So cute - and the chick was all dry and fluffy so I don't know when it hatched! There are so many eggs under them though, and I only checked out maybe 6 eggs.

Well, I've gotta finish getting ready for work. Coffee should just about be done! Enjoy the day!

chicky laura. I love chase coffee and you make a great pot.
I too found a fuzzy butt. he/she hiding under the Banty cochin hen.

I'm finally here. Got another whopper of a headache. I took some med and had 2 cups of coffee and it's starting to go away thankfully! Sissy, I think the coffee always tastes better when someone else makes it! Weird how that is! I'm drinking Maxwell House with some chocolate coffee mixed in. Yum yum. Here's the other pict I wanted to post. Believe it or not, I am old enough to remember the Ideal brand that Acme sold. My mom always bought Maxwell House but we shopped at Acme all the time.

Too bad coffee doesn't come in those metal containers any more. They are handy for storing nails, etc.

You guys are so lucky having all those babies! They are just so precious!

Laura, I might actually be going to the Bloomsburg auction tonight with my oldest DS. He might go and buy himself another car today, too. He's eccentric. Lately he is looking at a 1976 Lincoln Town Car and a 1985 station wagon (I forget the model - we looked at so many!) The Town Car is beautiful but that looooooooong hood scares me. It would be his 2nd pleasure car. He's a special young man, I always have fun when I'm out with him. Isn't it weird - a 19 year old that doesn't mind being seen with his MOM?!

Yep, a special young man.

Welcome St-Hubert, hope you like our coffee and conversation!! Have a nice day all!!!

.Working on left over coffee now so got to make a fresh pot. Then off to take care of the ducks and chickies.Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning! I took a cup out early to the brooder pen and sat on a cement block and watched my chicks for a while. They all scurry into a corner until they realize I'm not going to eat them. Then they come out and start playing around, chasing each other. They all look very healthy. There are 64 of them and that is way too many! I need to sell the Ameracaunas and the crosses. I'm not sure how to do it - this is the first time I've had so many chicks. Has anyone had experience with Craigslist?

It's such a quiet, peaceful day. My house guest isn't up yet - a city girl.

I'm ready for my second cup. I'll be making a new pot when she finally rises.
Everyone have a wonderful day!

Good morning, Iam on my first cup of coffee and it has a special taste.
We have been using bottled water. even with a whole house filtering system
our water has some particles in the strainer it looks like salt .
but is really clear and tasty for well water. Now my sister loves it.
I just dont want to have salt in my drinking water.
Iwas out this morning as you were
Kismet ,and this flock of mine start hollerin
their fool heads off. ita good I have no neighbors with -in earshot.
Scoop ,did DS find a car to his liking? and I hope the headache
stay away. Is it alergies. DH has a time with pine trees.
All you flock tenders have a great day.

Unless you live on a salt flat you won't see grains of salt in your water. You are seeing limestone or other mineral sediment or sand. It is mineral deposits settling to the bottom of your water strainer. One of the reasons well water is so good for you and country kids are rarely anemic is because of the iron and other good minerals in the ground water.

Good morning chicken wranglers
I'm glad to hear ya'll are up to snuff except for the head ache scoop. I took my ducklings down to the pond yesterday .My daughter "we call her goose" and I built a make shift pen out of chicken wire 1/2 in1/2 out of the pond so the girls could have a nice place to spend the daylight hours. As we put the ducks in the pen they were making the most distressing calls you had ever heard! A goose and her mate were out on the pond at the time and the old girl headed right over to inspect the ruckuss.Well I'd of never guessed what would happen next. She has adopted those ducklings I think . She is right by the pen and won't let antything near the pen or the ducklings "including my girl", goose! Who'd have guessed? She was there just like a sentinal all night. I got out of bed about 2 just to check and make sure because if the old girl was gone i'd have brought them in to save them from the coons, but there she was! should I let them out of the pen "if I can get close enough! and let her foster them?
