Carpe Diem!

Good Morning - I forgot to buy coffee yesterday, so I am waiting patiently for BF to return from McDonalds with some. Wish you were closer, Quercus, I could use something strong this morning. I was out late with friends last night, which i don't don't do much anymore, but at least my son is with Grandma and Grandpa so I got to sleep in. We had a little 'bon-voyage' party for a few friends, one of whom is going to London for a year, Oesdog. I'd really like to visit her while she is there. Where are you in England?

Math Ace - you never told me what type of chicks you got, and from whom? I think I convinced a good friend of mine last night to get chickens. He's waiting to close on a house in short-sale, so when he has his own yard...... one more addict to our "flock". I clean my coop every two weeks or so by shoveling out some of the sand/shavings and putting down new stuff. I rinse off the vinyl tiles under the roost bar every other day.

Gotta do a few minor repair things at a duplex I have, then later we are going to see a Rays game. Got the tickets for my brother for his birthday. GO RAYS!

Have a great day,
Tyra

Tyra,

We have had MANY conversations - - - and I am feeling OLD - - - Please, help me remember which chicks we are talking about.

Are we talking about the chicks I just picked up this week to keep my new born company?

Are we talking about the ones I ordered 3 - 4 months ago ? ?

or are we talking about something else entirely ? ?

Tyra,
I got a speckled sussex and a comet pullet. They are doing just fine adjusting to their new surroundings. The chick is not buddies with them yet, BUT she is not chirping for her mommy either. The new additions have been kind to her and not bullied her even though they are a little bigger than her. I think in a few more days it will be "Home SWEET Home" in the Bitty cage.

I got the new pullets from another LOCAL BYC member. We really should try to throw a monthly brunch meeting in every county so that we can just meet and chat with people who share similiar interests. They do that in other states. They have monthly "OUTINGS" where you spend the day doing chicken related things . . . GUEST speakers, lunch, games. Just a "FUN" Family Event.
