Coffee's ready...

Wow, that is a big releif, Anna! You must be taking great care of him!

I only have more chicks because my Leghorn wouldn't give up on being broody! I had to let her try, and what a great job she did.

Tartannik - Don;t be daft !!!!!!!!!! - You don;t need to appologise for anything!!!!!!!! I asked for oppinions on this subject about Dotty. - I am on a steep learning curve here never having been a grandparent before. The issue with Dotty is that it was an unplanned baby and she is not married to the Dad. All along she has told me over and over that she didn;t want a baby. So I kind of geared myself up to bringing her up myself I guess. I was not going to let her be abandoned just because she is an inconvenience to Dotty and Marks lifestyle! ( Makes me cross as by the time I was Dots age 21yrs I was married and had 4 babies and was nurseing my dieing mother in law!!! ) Dotty(Naomi) Doesn;t seem to understand the real world doesn;t revolve around her needs!!!!! Anyhow she has gone back to college as she is going into teacher training. So I hope it comes together for her. - ITs issues like today that bother me. - Weve had Jess all day yesterday and all night and then this morning DH phoned her to ask when she was collecting Jess as we want to go out. All he got from Dd was ---"What do you want??????????!!" NO how is Jess did she sleep ok?, is she fine etc???? Why I am not sure but there isn;t that mother baby bond there and I don;t understand that one bit???? When I had my kids I really struggled - I mean I had Twins with handicaps and everything and all my own parents did was say - "You made your bed you lay on it, and don;t come crawling to us for a baby sitter!!!!" - You can bet your life I NEVER DID!!!!

So I guess maybe I over compensate - with Dot - ???? So thats why I asked for input and other folks opinions - I value that!!!!! So don;t be sorry!!! -

And rest that darn foot!!!!!!!!!!!

Oesdog

Good Morning! My son let me sleep till 7 today, and I went to bed early so I'm feeling pretty good. Still conjested, but a bit better. My son is still pretty stuffy, too. Wiping his nose on everything!

Tartannick - don't worry, Oesdog gets nagged here about the Jess situation all the time, but only out of our love and concern for her. Hope your foot is feeling better!

Oesdog - They say women sometimes don't really bond with their babies until they are interacting a bit more with them (3-4 months). How old is Jess now? Who do you think Dotty would end up leaving her with if you didn't watch her? Does she have unsavory characters as friends? People that should be the targest on the next "Nanny 911" show? Don't give up yet, she just may need more time for that bond to form, but you will have to do what you can to encourage it, including insisting that she be the primary care-giver.

Well, it's getting light out and I have to go check on my babies. See if the last egg has hatched. I did notice that that one didn't feel hallow like the others ones did when I moved them to dust for the mites. I really think it's a dud, but Sunshine is deliberately tucking it under her and sitting on it, so I will defer to her judgement for now. Then it's time to continue the big organization/ re-decorating - this time in the garage. Fun, fun..

Have a great day, chicken herders.

Osedog - - you do realize that you are just as human as they are. You need sleep, food, and down time to.

Tell them your superwoman came is at the laundromat and you now need to rest until it returns !

OSEDOG - - - Dotty will keep using you and NEVER FIGURE it out if you don't let her. How about this - - - when there is another little one in 9 months - - - are you going to raise that one to ? ? If Dotty doesn't figure out that children are HER responsibility AND they are WORK and they REQUIRE her changing and giving up things she won't!

Do you remember when Dotty was little and you had to LET HER DRESS herself - - - even if it was done wrong and she left wearing god awful combinations ? ? ? She had to learn and sometimes that means doing it wrong first before doing it right ! ! ! It shouldn't take her long to figure out what wrong is . . . .

I am not fussing or angry or judgemental OESDOG - - -BUT I AM WORRIED ABOUT YOU. Sweetie there isn't enough of you to go around if you keep spreading yourself so then - - - BE CAREFUL and make sure you get some you time!

Hiding the rooster in the Garage so that he does not have to become soup ! LOVE IT !

My roo decided yesterday that he did not want me touching the leghorn hen. Poor Roo - - - He had to get some up closer loving from me. I carried him around for a while. The little chunky monkey was heavy, so Dh had to carry him for a while too. In the meantime the children came up and petted him and rubbed his wattles and comb. The wanted to hold him too, but I had to say no ! Chunky monkey was just too big for them. Then the sweet roo had to WAIT WAIT WAIT for the release command before he could go back to the flock. He is being trained to understand the WAIT command. I use it when I am setting him down so that he is still and not kicking his feet. HE IS GOING TO BE ONE HUGE ROO - - I am so glad I am not trying to hide him in the garage.

I have wondered if I locked him in the coop if the 4 and 5 o'clock crowings would be so loud.
