Coffee's ready...

Too funny that we posted at the same time, chics! I agree with your post. There is nothing more satisfying than successfully discharging a patient. However, some people need a much higher level of care. We do have a high population of people that come to us from prisons and function quite well while with us, but once discharged they seem to "find" trouble again. My whole perspective of drug addicts and prisoners has changed. I always thought they were "bad" people. I'm sure some are, but the people I've seen do try to be good, but just can't keep it together for one reason or another. Well, we can't change the world, but we can try our best to help people, even if it only is one person at a time.

80 degrees!!! Oh my goodness, I am jealous!

The eggs were indeed a complete surprise - she is only 19 weeks, so for an Ameraucana that is really early to start laying. We hadn't noticed her doing any squating or sitting in the nest box, no egg song at all. And the eggs are just TINY. I've never seen such small pullet eggs. I had to wonder for a minute if they were from the pigeon!

I'm not sure if her sister contributed any - that is the "Ameraucana" that hatched with no beard and feathered legs, so she may be an EE (secret tryst, or egg mix-up by the breeder

). I'll have to catch her in the act and see what color the eggs are.

Lots to do today to get ready for the week. Have a great day, chicken keepers.

It is nice to see the ducks on the pond after the thaw! The pasture is soup around the feeding trough. The cows go to the high ground for rest and relaxation. Iwas standind in soup trying to get the gate open and dropped the chain on the hot wire ouch. I said things that made the cows cringe.
God Bless!

Good morning, everyone! Ha ha, you didn't scare me away!

I've been a little busy tending to the 3 kids. DH is STILL in the hospital and we don't have too many answers. I've spent so much time there, but the dr. always seems to come when I'm not there! My DH doesn't really know what to ask, and then I grill him about what the Dr. said. I think I'm frustrating him by asking so many questions. So, hopefully dr. will be there when I'm there today. DH probably has some degree of bowel blockage or duodenitis. I have NO idea how he got this, but it's very painful. He's been in since Saturday, and he needs to get better and come home. We went to the small "country" hospital, and we are both thinking we should've went to the big hospital down in the big city. Being a nurse myself, I am astonished that the RN doesn't come in to see him often at all. As a matter of fact, when I worked in med/surg I had to assess each of my patients every shift. That has NEVER been done by an RN here. I don't get it.

Well, visiting hours for spouses starts at 10, so I will spend a little longer on BYC, then back to reality...

Thanks everyone for your well wishes! When I told DH about it, he said "Huh?" I had to explain and tell him that people from all over hope he gets better soon! Thanks again!!!

No you didn't scare me away either
