Good morning chicken wranglers.
The running water may do it if does not get too cold . Water froze up around here last week even though it was running! Man It was COLD!!!!!
Today it is 30 and seems like a heat wave , if it was not for all the unmelted snow it would be pleasant.

the fountain pump will help, moving water doesn't freeze as easily. However, if it does freeze, be cautious- the cheap pumps are made in China, and if the water freezes the ice could possibly break the pump or the insulation, and you'll have hot electric current flowing into ice/water inside the coop, a safety hazard.

I made a solar heater for fun last week. With sun and 20 deg weather, it was producing close to 100 deg. I was thing of making a smaller one and putting it on the coop. Granted it only works with the sun, but the coop is well insulated.

Our youngest daughter had -17 a week or so ago up north.

Rain, 38deg with highs of upper 40s low 50s

That looks good Q.I went to the link and will download the plans for future trial. Thanks I hope it works as well for the cows as it did for the horses in the article. We have been above the freezing mark for a few days, so it is a mess! I'm always complaining but I'd rather it froze and stayed until spring instead of freeze thaw freeze thaw ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,on and on . The mud is the worst part.
I got my bull back, in 2# packages, Teach him to bully the cows and the kids. He is now extra lean Quality ground and boy does he taste good.
I fried and ate 2 patties just to make sure. One without condiments and one with, just to be sure . Was good! Already sold 120#s the remaining 230 will go fast.

The weather is improving . Life is going real swell, hopefully all of you guys are coffee and cake and all is copacetic in your lives as well!

Going back into the sub zero temps again this week. Tonight tomorrow and on until Friday. owwwwch more and more work to keep up with the cold.Global warming my derriere! Gargoyle nice work. Is it the sun or the wind? Or just a cool face?

Good morning chicken wranglers,
Well it made it back to the low temps again, never a dull moment with the winter weather ,school closings snow drifts and 50 mile an hour winds . I thought the shingles were flapping it was blowing so hard last night. The wind actually awakened me several times during the night. I am sure that the chickens were snuggled all safe in their roost with vision of tasty frogs on their tooth ?
