The first plane hit the other tower, right after I came in.
It left a firey, gaping hole where offices had been.
We stood and watched in horror, as we saw the first ones fall,
Then someone yelled "Get out, get out! They're trying to kill us all!"
I grabbed the pictures from my desk and joined the flight for life.
With every step I called the names of my children and my wife,
And then we heard them coming up, from several floors below,
A crowd of firefighters with their heavy gear in tow
Now every time I try to sleep, I'm haunted by the sound
Of firemen pounding up the stairs, while we were running down.
And when we met them on the stairs, they said we were too slow.
"Get out, get out!" they yelled at us, "The whole thing's gonna go!"
They didn't have to tell us twice, we'd seen the world on fire.
We kept on running down the stairs, while they kept climbing higher.
Now every time I try to sleep, I'm haunted by the sound
Of firemen pounding up the stairs, while we were running down.
Thank God we made it to the street; we ran through ash and smoke.
I did not know which way to run; I thought that I would choke.
A fireman took me by the arm and pointed me uptown,
Then "Christ!" I heard him whisper, as the tower came crashing down.
So now I go to funerals for men I never knew;
The pipers play "Amazing Grace", as the coffins come in view.
They must have seen it coming as they turned to face the fire.
They sent us down to safety, then they kept on climbing higher.
Now every time I try to sleep, I'm haunted by the sound
Of firemen pounding up the stairs, while we were running down.
Of firemen pounding up the stairs, while we were running down.

I remember that day and the day after driving home from the Adirondacks and all of the flags that were on display - I'll never forget.

Well finally got on line. Lord have mercy. TWC and problems all for $100 a month. Three months with these people and had to call 6 or 7 times. Trouble with the TV then the Phone and lately the internet.

Well today isn't all bad for an anniversary. DW and I have been married nearly 40 years today.

Karl , I've found a couple of eggs under a hoop coop. Not sure how long they've been there. That makes four so far.

I've been keeping the Marans inside. I think they've laid in places I won't find too.

Just a quick reminder. Check the dates on your feed.

Have a nice day folks.

ta, ta for now,

Rancher

Picked up a big bag of scratch this spring. I don't give them any during the summer, but today was quite cool, so I grabbed a scoop... looked at it, it's moldy. Gotta dump 25 pounds of scratch. Not going to put it in the compost, wild birds might eat it. I don't know, bury it maybe?

Good morning chicken wranglers
Gargoyle, I think it may grow in the compost! if any of the seeds are whole. That will not hurt anything.
This week end I hope to ; close the pool, dig the sweet potato's pick the rest of the tomato's ,and till the compost in to the garden.
Not altogether too ambitious?
My Galloway calved she had a perfectly belted heifer ! I was excited!
Pretty little thing. I will try to post a pic soon.
God Bless!
