Gargoyle - I sometimes leave things near the back door to take to the garage. I HAD a small black tape to use in the house on my desk. I also keep a small hammer, some screw drive, pliers, extra eye glasses. glue sticks, pens, pencils and scissors there too. I just noticed there is an ice pick in the pencil holders too. Have no idea why it's there.
rngrbill - Before long you'll need a camper to carry all that stuff. I always and still hated loading up.
I kept it simple. We have a Dodge Caravan. I'd just take the seats out and put two coolers behind the front seats. We slept in the van. I hated the damp clammy feeling of sleeping in a tent. The only thing I didn't have that I needed was a cup of coffee in the morning. One frying pan, a fold up sterno stove to cook. Paper plates and cups and plastic ware. No TV or electronics. Books to read. DW would load us up with more food than we needed. Course we were only gone for three or four days. It would just be me and two of the kids. Then I'd take the other two kids. DW is NOT a camper.
Karl - God love ya, you've got more energy than me. I could use some right about now. It's cold and I hate the cold. Things need putting away for the snow. Only thing is weather is fickle here. Might be in the 80's. I've never learned when to dump the flower pots, rip out the tomato plants, plant the garlic and whether I'd need the hoses.
