Coffee's ready...

Stay Tough Oesdog . . . It will get better. She is overwhelmed and will have to take it one day at a time JUST LIKE WE DID !

If she says she is depressed (REMEMBER She has had more sleep than you have . . . ) then she needs to get medicine. There is no denial about postpartum depression.

I have no doubt that if she is cooking dinner tomorrow, you will be taking care of Jessica. So, you will get your granddaughter / baby fix and she will get her daughter / baby break !

The more time your daughter spends taking care of Jessica, the more confident she will feel and the more bonding that will occur. It will get better . . . .

GET SOME REST TONIGHT - - You have EARNED IT ! ! Have a Glass of wine and tell Dh that you love him. Soak in a bubble bath and RELAX ! !

Hope everyone SLEEPs through the night !

YOU did good!

Will need to get a photo if they do that again!!!!!!!! So cute!!!!!

WAKE UP everyone - - - It is Monday and time for some of ya'll to go to work !

I need to get the children up and off to school. My sinuses are kicking my butt today.
I will spend this morning studying for another math quiz tomorrow.

Then this afternoon, I need to go to the feed store and get a flu shot.

I am hopefully going to set my first set of eggs in Dh homemade incubator SOON !
ANY ADVICE is welcome.

Oesdog - - -it will do you and Dh good to run away . . . .

Chicks - - -where are those baby photos?

Tartannik - - -I never got a chance to say hello - - - - so "HELLO". I love peanut butter on toast. It is so good when the peanut butter melts on the toast . . . I have Marans too. That is what going to try to hatch. I have a couple of welsummers too. Although, the marans are my favorites.

EVERYBODY have a GREAT Day!

Yeah, yeah, I'm up and at work. I had a busy but fun weekend, and took every chance I had to watch the babies. Didn't I post pics on here on Friday? I'll put up some more later. I've got some cute ones of them peeking out from under Mama Sunshine. I can't believe how well she is doing. I took the last unhatched egg out yesterday. She was starting to get up off the the nest and not taking care to tuck it under her anymore. It was really funny - I took it out and a minutel later she was standing up on the edge of the nest box, looking and looking for it. Then she sat back down and just completely relaxed and sort of slumped against the side, like, "OH THANK GOD I don't have to keep trying to hatch that stupid thing!" Later she was trying to get the babies to come out of the nest box and walk around the little run with her, but only one could get out, then it couldn't get back in. She kept hopping in and out trying to get them to follow, but they couldn't quite make it. It was cute, all of them peeping and jumping up and down. I guess I didn't trim the front down low enough, but I"m sure in a matter of days they will be hopping in and out like it's nothing.

Math ace - you post makes it look like you are going to get a flu shot at the feed store!

I'm just about done with all the re-organizing and re-decorating, and that feels good. I had to order a custom mat for one of my pictures - I be you would like it, Math Ace - it is a copy of an Audubon print of two Florida Scub Jays. I got it on e-bay for $10 - I think someone took apart and old Audubon book and sold the pages seperately. Feels good to have the garage and house in order (for now, anyway!).

Hope you survived dinner, Oesdog. My DH cooked a Cuban pork roast and we had a few friends over to watch football. It was fun, and he even did most of the dishes!

Well, have a great day, everyone!

Well I am back from being out and about this morning!!!
NO Danny NO Jessica - Brillient!!!!!!!!

DH and I just went for a drive and got a few things we needed for the camper - sily stuff you don;t think about like a basin that fits in the sink and cutlery set that fits in the tiny drawer. Both of these things I had for years when we had the caravan but when we went through the stuff in the garage could we find them - NOT A CHANCE!!
YES Math ace we are indeed - Running away from home!!!! Dd told us she was comming here this morning - so we went out!!!!!!! Is that bad ????? I mean we are actually hiding from our own children!!!!!!!!!!!-

Well Dh also found a fluffy chicken in a shop and bought it for me as he said I deserved a gift!!!!!!!!! - Ha Ha - we were laughing because we looked everywhere fro a fluffy chicken for the tiny chicks to snuggle up to and there was none anywhere, in the end we got them a Mommy Duck instead!!!!! Anyhow I decided I am going to call him Cornflake!!!!!! So maybe take a photo of him he is soooo cute! Doesn't crow, doesn;t make mess, doesn't cost loads to feed and doesn;t need any expensive Vet care!!!!!
UM - Stuffed chicken???? -

It is lovely and sunny here and the sea is beautiful. Its been stormy so all we can smell is seaweed!!!!!!

We stopped off to have coffee on the way home so that topped off a really good morning

Oh well now I guess I will need to think on cleaning the house!!!!!!!!

Yes I survived the dinner last night - it was infact very nice indeed. - I did suggest Dotty might like to cook once a month for Sunday Dinner. Her answer to that was Yeah sure IF YOU PAY FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!! - I thought I already pay for Sundays Dinners??????? Ahhhhhhhhh kids and their concept of money???

Anyhow better away I guess for now.
Its 1 pm in the afternoon here - I guess you guys in US are just getting up??????????

Glad your up chicks - yes we survived - Your Pork roast sounded lovely????
I was wondering about the Flu jab at the feed store too???? -
Sad your last egg didn't hatch - did you open it?????? Was there anything at all inside or was it just goo and a dud from day one. - When I took away the chick with the guts out from Bertha she got really upset then we had this moment when our eyes met and I think she understood. She got up and just got out the door when she had this almighty poo - it went everywhere and stank the place out. I think she saved it up for three weeks - she was sooooo glad to get off that darn nest!!!!!!!!!

Morning People,
Pot luck with coffee today, but it tastes good.

Weather: cool/crisp this morning wood stove is going.

I have to gloat, sorry, but I am to happy. The ladies here are tired of hearing it..... I am getting beams from a barn that was built in the early 1900's. It's a pile that measures 4' x 4' x 12' and it's a mixture of white oak and American chestnut, all for a whooping cost of $100.00

I guess yesterday I received a big check mark in the box that says "Doesn't play well with others" We went "hiking" in the catskills, on overlook mtn. There was a lot of people, popular spot. We took the longer, back way up. For the last 1/2 mile we had to join the main trail. Now the trail is about 4 - 5' wide, wide enough for 2 people to walk side by side. The better half, she's a little woman, 5' .00000001" tall and maybe a whooping 110 - 115lbs. As we were walking up the trail, the "men" coming down the trial weren't moving into a single file to pass each other, but more or less forcing the better half off the trail. I in turn was behind her. After a few times of this, I started walking down the middle of the trail, (this is were I got the check mark), I started banging into people. One guy I sent flying and just about took out the group he was in. Afterwards, I took the lead, everyone went into single file, and the better half wasn't getting smacked with branches. - Thats my "rant"

Chics in the sun: Math ace - you post makes it look like you are going to get a flu shot at the feed store! - I was wondering about the same thing. I was wondering about you Floridains.

Chics in the sun: I think someone took apart and old Audubon book and sold the pages seperately. Feels good to have the garage and house in order (for now, anyway!). - The better half found a site that you can print "old" prints and frame them. You or anyone else want the site?

Enjoy the day

Kaj

Oesdog - you do what you have to to save your sanity. She'll get the message one way or another! I didn't open the egg. I'm pretty sure it was the one that looked like it had stopped developing when we candled them last weekend. Part of me wonders if I should have left it a bit longer, but I'm sure it was a quitter, and Sunshine had about given up on it, too.

Kaj,
Yes, I would love that site! And I would be really excited to get old barn beams - I bet they are beautiful. I can't stand it when people don't move to single file on hiking traisl - thanks for setting them strait!

Why does she need us EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought she left home to be an independant adult??? She didn;t need her "old Parents" anymore cause, were old and out of touch with the world of the young????

Oesdog - Quick Hide me!!!!!!!!!!!

Chicks - you did the right thing with the egg!!!!!!!! If Sunshine felt it was not worth it then it was probably a dud and full of goo!!!!!
I always open ours just to be sure but from what you said - it sounded like a dud!!!!!!!! Bertha had an egg with nothing in too as well as the little one that we had to cull.
Good for Sunshine you have a really good load of chicks for her to mother!!!!!!
