Coffee's ready...

Get ready for a different chicken . . .
My speckled sussex follow so closely to my feet that they have almost tripped me several times.
Mine are not crazy about being picked up, but they stay right near me no matter where I go.
TALK about talking, my girls get the vote for one of the most vocal breeds I have even owned.
They have this really odd nasal speak. It is not real loud, but it is plentiful !

Mine are at pol and look like butterballs. The only birds that I have that have taken on this body shape.

We are all crazy here so you and your 3 eyed fish will fit in just fine!!!!!!!
Looking foward to hearing what your getting - what are you into???? Cows, piggys???? Tell us about your chickens!!!!!

quercus21 - SS - great girls - MY BERTHA is SS - good with chicks!!!! They are a lovely chicken and mine are very like Math-aces they follow me and are very into all you do!
Mine are I guess a bit more sensitive than other breeds. Bertha especially as I never heard a hen sob before I tried to take her babies away! Now they are 20 weeks and she is still dropping food on the ground for them! Though she has given up trying to sit on them at night now thankfully!!!!

Math ace - happy belated birthday ( YOU DIDN:T TELL US WHICH BIRTHDAY IT IS????? )

Never fails, plenty to do outside, good weather, and we have to spend the day shlepping around the area doing extended famly things. Not going to a birthday party because the garden needs tilled is not a valid excuse. Probably going to drive 200 miles today....

Have a good one, everyone!

:lau Good one.

Welcome, Gumbii!
This post is just the musings and chatting of chicken people in a virtual coffee shop. A livestock auction does sound neat.

It looks like my Marans is a GREAT layer. She has only missed one day this week! I'm so excited, especially since her eggs are so big and they are getting darker. Since I don't have a farm where I can just have as many chickens as I want, those I do have must contribute! I think I have perfected scrabbled eggs. Made some this morning..... juuuust riiiiight.

NO comment (except Oesdog - thanks, Oesdog - she is my third feather legged chicken. I know they don't need 'boots' in Florida, but at least it's hardly ever muddy, as even when it rains the sun comes back out and dries it up quickly) on my Ameraucana with feathered feet? I'm so excited about it!! I wish I could experiment and breed her to see if I could make a line of them.

Taking it easy this morning, just doing laundry and straightning up. Then later we are going to a little festival/ fair type thing, with my Mom, who will then take my son for an overnight and BF and I are going to two Halloween parties. I wish I felt better. I can hardly breath, my chest feels like it is full of lead. Oh well, I just won't stay long.

Have a good day, chicken folks!!

See I told you chicks - You can send virtual viruses over the net!!!!!!!!
My chest is killing too and I am sooooo having to use the inhalers - every couple of hours to clear my chest. Though my peek flow reading is hovering around 300 so I am happy with that. - Gets a wee bit bad if it drops below 200. Then I have to take Nebs but I am ok at the moment!!!!!

Like you I am doing laundry as we have sun today!!!!!!!!!!

DH is really in a bad way today - he is sooo sore with his hands and leg he was crying in agony but there is little I can do. I hate to see him like this. We go to the pain clinic regularly but they wont give him anything more than Morphine patches right now as the injections will mess up his heart surgery stents. - Ahhhhhhh hate this.
