She is a good looking girl. So, if you decide to re-home her then. . . It will be ok with me!

My then, I will have "her" choice of roos. The mature one I currently have is a real sweetie. Does the one leg and sideway wing dance ALL the time. . . . He does need some bigger women. My leghorns kiss the dirt when he decides to party. The EE's just complain vocally about his junky monkey weight. The marans and wyandotte do just fine.

I am raising 13 marans chicks now. 6 - 8 are roos from the best that I can tell right now.

I am a BUSY BUSY woman today!

I am working on laundry and cleaning the kitchen and putting away all the misc. animal supplies. I have had a leghorn in the house for almost a week being treated for bumble foot. She looked good enough this morning that I took her out to the free range area.

My chicks went outside for the first time today. I had to build a temporary play area for them FIRST. It is very temporary, but it will provide them more space and exposure to the outside during the next week or so. Then I hope to move them FULL time to the bitty cage. They will spend the next month - 2 months out there. The weather is sooooo nice outside today

I hope the chicks enjoy it because tonight it is back to the indoors and the swimming pool / chick area,

Kaj - Oesdogs other half is not the better half!!!!!!!! - Dh is very very tired and sore right now. We are taking one day at a time it is very upsetting and frustrating. At times we are nto sure what to do for the best. Poor thing says he feels like a Pharmacutical experiment because he is on so many tablets. He isn;t the best really but there is nothing can be done. He is exhausted tonight.

We had friends call tonight and its kind of taken a lot out of him. - they didn;t stay long so I was glad of that.

I am trying to catch up with you Kaj - this is a training thing your doing at the fire tower???? Sounds interesting - I want to come!!!!!!!!

Well didn;t get much time for anything today. Took DH and young Jess out to coffee which was a good change from yesterday as she cried sore with the teething. It is quite wearing on you that constant crying and I end up with a terrible headache. Have threatened to put her out in the chicken coop and let Gerty brood her!!!!! Can't hear a thing from her out in the chicken shed!!!!!

That's funny. Poor 'little' girls! My Marans is certainly a 'big girl'. She's like the Queen Latifa of the flock - bit and beautiful, only not as sweet natured. What are you going to do with all those roos? Wish I could take one.

SOOOO Happy that today is the start of a whole week off. I can use the break. I've got a lot to take care of with my rental property and expanding the coop, but I will also fit in some down time (although I actually enjoy working on the coop). And Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It is just cooking, eating, and enjoying the family. My favorite things! Today I need to start by cleaning out my car and taking it to my son's school, where they are doing a craft fair and car wash to raise money for Haiti. Then I'll work on the coop while I've got the girls and BF here to help out.

Hang in there, Oesdog.
Have a nice Saturday, everyone!

Good morning/afternoon people,

Coffee's good, left over breaded chicken to snack on till the better half wakes. We are going on a "mini" hike today. But it is still a good excuse for thick sliced bacon, eggs and rolls.

Weather: outside-30, cloudy; today-mid 50's, partly sunny, inside-62 and clear (until I wake her......)

Going on a hike today to Mt. Tremper fire tower. This will be the last one in the Catskills. I wonder if it will be open. Some towers are open and you can climb them. It's a 6 mile round trip, light packs, e-food and water.

chicks-in-the-sun: Good news about the article and I hope it works out for you.

osedog:"Kaj - Oesdogs other half is not the better half!!!!!!!!" - He's Irish right?????? and you are????????? (joking) soooooooooooooo
one day at a time and you'll make it into the future.

A friend of ours stopped by last night for supper and promptly beat me in chess. It's been about 12 - 15yrs since I played it with a "human". I was given a nice set a bit back and finally found someone to play it with.

Enjoy the day

Kaj

It's *VERY* rainy here today. Briefly lets up, then starts coming down again. Started yesterday.
Oh,yeah - Good morning everyone!

So yeah. I'm bundled up in my sweater with a blanket over my legs. I gave the girls extra food and water yesterday evening just in case, so they should be fine this morning. In a while, I'll get dressed and check on them during one of the breaks in the heavy rain.

I've gotta go and get some breakfast now. Then it's housework time.

I can't believe your day is just starting it's already dark here!!!!!!!!!

Have had a fairly busy day with lots going on. Jess here and Dotty - went to see the other boy with the brain Injury Ben as he was quite low. He keeps losing money or getting it taken off him by folk! It is hard work trying to protect him. DH keeps having funny turns and going dizzy near collapsing. He says he is ok - Yeah right???? I just couldn;t find him and he was laid on the bed having had another hot flush and has taken his heart meds again. I worry a lot because things are not right. Still we have a review shortly so hope the cardiologist gets to the bottom of it all??? So quite a day so far.

I laugh at you annaraven going out to the chickens like that - you soooo remind me of this mad woman over here!!!!!

Better away as I have Danny to shower and change now. - ain't life great!!!

I am going to raise them up for a few months. . . I need to select the top one or two roosto improve my flock with.
My current roo has issues with too short of a back and a white tail or wing feather.

I will try to give the rest away. I didn't have any trouble getting rid of my last two roos.

I still have to go to classes Mon and Tuesday of next week. My childrenn have to go to school Mon and Tuesday too.

OMG - I have a child!!!!!!!
There was an accident in the night with someone our Brain Injured boy knows. Well the mum went off to hospital with the guy who was hurt - figure long term BF or something. Well apparently she couldn;t get anyone to take the baby so Ben said he would but = as you can imagine that isn;t quite right !!!!! Anyhow Dh got phoned by our son early hours and this fellow was covered in Blood. - DH being x Ambulance runs down to help being this guy is off the fishing boats and all. So he naturally tells Ben No he can;t take the baby so he brings her home to me. So here I am 5 am in the morning wiht this cute little blond tot - 3yrs old with nothing but the clothes she stood up in and a bag of toys! - Got her settled and to bed a few hours and Phoned Dotty this mornig. Someone gave her a bag of big clothes when Jessica was born so she came straight over. - I put the Tot to bed in her clothes and was worried incase she got up wet as I had nothing to put her in. Anyhow Dot came with clothes so she is up and we bathed her and washed her hair and all that. Dotty was great with her and took her out with the chickens and read to her. She had some oats for breakfast and is now watching the Garfield movie!!!! So that is today - wow!!!!!!!!!! I have become an emergancy unofficial foster parent!!!! I don;t know when her mom will come for her or anything . Hope its good news at the Hospital but the kid is really good, pretty little thing with a mop of blond hair. - Our Ben says yes to anything you really never know what he will bring home next???

At least the child is safe!!!!
Better go check on her now and decide what to get her for lunch?
