Well that's ok. Darcy can scream real loud if she doesn't get her what she wants. Not really but she does screech when she's trying to do something and can't.

Yeah Our darling was trying to feed herself and got so worked up over it most of the food ended up all over her. THen of course she thought it was funny!!!

Aww, what a cutie, Oesdog!

Sounds like you have hatching fever, Rancher! I'm jealous you got C Rocks from Georgia - I've been admiring his Rocks for a while now. One day I want one of each color......

I've been busy, lots of trainings and other stuff taking me away from my desk. Getting ready for my swap - I'm getting excited, and I decided to incoorporate some fundraising into it for the vicitms in Japan. Spring break is next week, and I can't wait! I need a break....

Well, gotta get a lot done before yet another meeting. Then get home and straighten up before my in-laws come by and take us out to dinner this evening. My house is a wreck after not feeling well all weekend.

Have a great day, folks!

Good morning chicken wranglers
Oesdog she is a cutie for sure!Thuis is my last post until I get back from the vacation.
Rancher good to hear from you again. Chicks good luck with the swap .
God Bless!

Hi its me again,

I've got a room full of chicks. Good garden o' peas! I now have three brooders going and all full as can be. 14, 11 and 18 with one still in the bator so 19. There are still 4 eggs left and two have pips but I don't know. They started way early on lockdown day. Never got the chance to up the turner.

11 are for patty16367 or something from here and I can't get a hold of her. I'm worred something may have happed to her since she knows I've got the chicks and she hasn't called. I can't leave her a message cuz her box is full. She lives pretty far away and I don't know where she lives anyhow.

DD and hers are away for the day and that's not a bad thing. Funny I can deal with the baby more than the big ones.

I wish this weather would warm up so I could get some work done outside. More snow in the forcast. Help me Jesus!

Oesdog - Jesse looks like my grandson when he eats. We went out to a japanese steak house and I think they were glad to see us leave. He got more rice on the floor than in his mouth.

Chics - the CR's are coming late and thats just fine since trylin and I have order BR's and they should come around the same time. I was worried they'd come to far apart. So it looks like things are going to work out anyhow.

Well take care everyone.

Today is day 21 and I've got chicks hatching AGAIN.. . . . This is my third hatch this year AND I have eggs in a second incubator waiting to go in the main incubator as soon as this hatch finishes. I just got more eggs yesterday and tomorrow that will go in tomorrow too.

I am a little hatching fool this year.

I haven't posted much, but I lurk every chance I get. . . . The chores and responsibilities are keeping me away from the computer.

Just wanted to say "HI" and let everyone know that I am alive ( just encase you were wondering).

Sounds like you're quite busy, Rancher. Post pics of the two types of Rocks when you get them - where are the BR's coming from?

I was wondering how you were, Math Ace. You are hatching like mad! I'm afraid to get an incubator, although I may give it a shot if my swap goes well on Saturday and I have another one next year. Hatch a breed I want and know will sell, and cut out the middle man.

I thought of you this morning, Math Ace. Last night I had a dream that I was considering getting a little pig. A woman I used to deal with at my old job was raising them, which is weird because she is a complete citified diva who wears designer clothes and owns property all over St.Pete. She's the last person I know that would raise pet pigs, but in the dream they were just ADORABLE. I even remember thinking to myself, "I'll have to PM Lisa and ask her how much work they are".

Well, I'm on spring break and am going to 1)get some excersise, 2)study for the teaching certificate test, 3) work on the aviary. Yesterday I only did number 1. Time to get busy, but it may rain again today so number 3 might get put off again. I also have a few things to do before my chicken swap on Saturday, which I am really excited about. I think I'll have a great turn out.

Well, gotta get my son to preschool and swing by the mall, then home to work on number 2 and 3. Have a great day, chicken wranglers!

Wow, I haven't stopped in for coffee in a little while. I've been lurking here and there, but...

I have two brooders full of chicks in the house, but one has got to go out in the "big girl coop" today. I have a separate area that I use for older chicks, so I'm planning on scrubbing it out and setting it up for them, well at least most of the chicks in the one brooder. I think my turkeys will have an indoor home for a little longer. I may build another coop for them. They are cool, but they are also Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. That may be hard, but they are BBB.

The other brooder is full of 15 Cornish X I got from Ideal last week. This is my second batch of Cornish X from them and I am very pleased. I received 3 shipments from Ideal, and all of the chicks arrived healthy and in good shape. I only lost one chick here at home, but I think it got smothered because I had the brooder too darn cool.

I have a separate pen out in the coop with 9 Cornish X that were one month old yesterday. They are doing great! I did notice one yesterday that looked like it was having some leg issues, but then later it was walking around fine. We will see what happens. Right now the chicks are I think about the size of Cornish Game hens. I have to call the processor to set up an appointment, but since this is my first time doing this I'm not exactly sure when. I'm hoping to get another 4-5 weeks out of them. Boy, do they love their food! I can see why you have to withhold food for 12 hours.

Sounds like everyone else has hatching fever! I tried for 2 years to hatch, but... I stink at it! Get this - my DH wants to get "show chickens" and he wants me to get SQ eggs from somewhere so we can hatch them. I do think I have a hen that is getting broody, so I may "use" her. The problem is, is that he doesn't know what kind of "show chickens" he wants. I love my mutts, lol! Geez, after reading this, we sure have a lot of chicken projects going on!!!

But wow, do I enjoy taking care of them after a stressful day at work. It's definitely my therapy.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day!!!
