Coffee's ready...

Good morning, everyone! Hope all are safe and in one piece after last night's storm. As usual, it split north and south of us - being downwind a 20 minute drive from Stone Mountain does have it's benefits, even though we get the least rain in this county compared to the whole state. It's supposed to be windy, cool and sunny for a few days now.

It brings back the memories of my own tornado encounters though, looking at all these chilling photos. The body count for north georgia is at 11 and it's not even daylight yet. I'm going out in the daylight and hugging my chickens - because my teenagers don't want to be hugged.

math ace, hope you miss out on the storms and the cooties.

Ain't that the TRUTH! I have the same problem with my children!

I have to remind my daughter that I could get hit by a car in order to get an " I LOVE YOU"!
What's up with that ? ? ?

My son will tell me "I Love YOU", but only because he knows his sister won't!

You just have to wonder what goes in on in their little brains . . .. . .. . .. .

I didn't realize the storms were that bad up there. Stay safe! Down here we may get a bit of rain, and it will cool off over the weekend, which will be really nice for camping.

Well, I set my friend's dozen eggs in the incubator I borrowed - very exciting - it is my first attempt at hatching in an incubator. Math Ace helped me figure out how to get three batches of eggs to hatch at different times without disrupting the 'lock down', so I have that all figured out. My last batch of eggs that I won on here last Tuesday will be here next week. Sky is doing well on the three I gave her. Much more focused without her sister there.

Things are getting crazy around here with the graduating seniors - I will be very busy through those first two weeks of June.

Have a great day, chicken wranglers.

Good morning chicken wranglers
Oesdog are you watching the precedings on the telly?I waqs wondering if the UK was giving this wedding as much press as the US?
To be frank I could care less if the new duke and duchess were in the tower but it seems to mesmerize so many for some reason! Europe I understand but over here I've got to wonder.
The storms have passed for now sunny today grill out tonight. Ya'll have a great weekend ,God bless!

My day to day responsibilities keep me way to busy to even think about all the social fu fu involved with the Royal wedding.

I have been up since 5:00 having Ds finish an English project due today. He and Dd have worked on homework every night this week for at least 3 hours a nights. Add on that a hour with me for chicken chores and a hour for dinner and baths, you can see how busy their evenings have been.

I am sitting in 92 degree heat and watching the news talk about how the fine folks attending the wedding can not even take off their jackets due to social rules. NOT for me. . . I see HEAT STOKE just thinking about it!

Also, I am wondering about all the people in the US who have just lost everything or loved ones to the mass destruction of the recent tornados. Do you think they give 2 cents about the wedding right now?

I probably would be more interested IF I wasn't being bombarded by it on EVERY media outlet. . . Enough already!

Let me crawl off my soap box and go take care of my chickens. . . . I did choose the way I live and would not trade it for one minute of a priveledge royal life. . .. .

I just value big open spaces with trees and animals too much. I even like animal poo because it is great for the plants I grow. . . Yep, no royal blood in my body!

I am very much a royalist - my husband served in her majesty's armed forces. Yes I have watched the wedding and I thought Catherine looked lovely. I am very fond of Prince William and Harry - I do think that Catherine as future Queen should have been made Princess Catherine though. Duke and duchess is not a title they should have been given. But thats my oppinion. As long as they are safe and happy without any terror threats that is what counts. We are hoping that we have a new heir a little PRINCE by this time next year. ( I am not into feminist clap trap the heir to the throne is down the male blood line and always should be.) So here is hoping for a little prince!!!!!!!

Anyhow the days seems to have gone well so far. - I am of the oppinion that anyone who is not supportive of our queen and country SHOULD NOT BE HERE!!!

Karl - it mesmerizes folk in the US because sadly you do not have a Royal family of your own so you are able to share ours and get enthusiastic about it. - Unfortunately a great deal of Europe murdered their monarchey ( We did too in the past but thankfully some survive!!!) I do not like all the hangers on though!!!!!!!

Your right being a Royal here is a really hard life. Folk think they are very privilaged which of course they are but at a heavy price. When you think of it they never have a day that is totally theirs - at least we have the freedom to go run out and hug a chicken !!! - while Catherine will never be able to chose her own clothes or wear the same frock twice no matter how much she loves it!!! She is just a clothes peg for the latest fasion designers. They give up a great deal. Folk got mad because the royal family had a train and a boat and a plane so they MADE THEM SELL THEM!!!! But actually all of those things belonged to all of us as a nation and now we DON:T HAVE THEM ANYMORE!! Our Queen cannot use them and we have lost those things. The Queen and royal family belong to all of us here !!!!!!! They don;t belong to themselves at all.

Oesdog - I am glad we have a Royal family - you have a president its not the same thing so you all at least can share the joy of days like today if you want!!!! If you don;t just turn the TV off !!!!!

I haven't been keeping up with it - too busy - but I do plan on catching the highlights this evening. It's just pretty, and you are right, Oesdog, Americans are facinated by it all because we don't have our own royalty. I fell in love with London and the British Isles in general when I visited a few years ago, so it took on more meaning for me - I just enjoy all things British a bit more since visiting, I guess.

I don't feel like being at work today. We are leaving to go camping after BF picks the girls up at school, and I'd rather be home tending the incubating eggs, the chickens, ducks, pigeons, and doves - and cat - and getting ready to go. Lows in the 60's, highs in teh 70's this weekend - difficult to be cooped up in this office all day.

Glad to have you put that in perspective for me.I don't have a real connection to royalty but I'm terrifically handsome just ask me and I will tell you.I may not be princely ,but my wife is one lucky gal!
