Good morning chicken wranglers
coffe is at my side, I took the calf in the garage and tried to feed her but she wouldn't coopeerate for me.Momma was out and looking for her real hard,The momma that lost her calf will not leave the body yet ,and when I took the live little one back to her mom They were calling back and forth. The lost momma let out a bawl that almost broke my heart. I got the excavator over to bury the dead, hope the old girl will let me drag the body off.
Siss glAD THAT YOU HAVE GOOD TIDINGS FOR US ABOUT YOUR HUSBAND.Well gotta work God Bless!
That is so sad! I don't know that I could deal with birthing cows if this is what I had to deal with. I have a hard time culling some chicks that were born deformed. . . . I don't think I could handle the sadness of calves and their mammas.
SISSY - - GREAT NEWS is always so welcome here. . . . Glad things are going right for you
CHICS - - What day are you on? ? ? This is not sounding good.

Karl - Maybe if momma is still showing interest in the calf it may come round given a quiet place sometimes they do - So sad you lost the others and I can understand the heartbreak - my hen Bertha still looks for the roo boys I gave away in January every morning - I had them in a different pen when they were grown and had to carry them back to the big pen with there mom during the day. So consequently now she waits for them by the gate but of course they don;t come. Animals are not stupid and they do have feelings!!!!! - You are a good man because you see this and you care!!!!!!!

I think I counted wrong. I included the day I set them as day one, and I didn't put them in until late in the day. If I don't include that day, then today is actually day 21. My bator stayed at a steady 99.5, and several of the eggs in the hatching bator are jiggling. So I'm not panicking yet. The humidity in the hatching bator did drop yesterday to about 40%, but I don't think it was low for very long. I have to go visit a girl downtown today, which is only a mile from my house, so I may sneak back to check on them.
You do because you care for Gods creatures!!!!!!!! Give her loads of love all you can do and then put her back to your Bull as soon as she is able and ready! Only thing you can do Karl .
