Cold Weather got me

    24 degrees [​IMG] 12 miles from Mexico Darn it those are not my words but will not discrase my self here lost a lot last night will be eating about 200 eggs want to come for a cook off. NEVER UNDERESTAMATE MA NATURE SHE WILL GET HER'S DARN IT. [​IMG] [​IMG] [​IMG]

    It got down to a negative 24 here [​IMG] and sadly, some of my chickens froze [​IMG]

    It was -20ยบ here too. I ran one light out to the quail pen and put it over the waterer. It still froze, but the quail didn't. My ducks sleep in a covered pen with a dog igloo inside. I just gave them loads of fresh straw. They kept each other warm.

    I don't know where you are, but I'm about 12 miles from Mexico too and it was below 0 here last night.

    It got down to 10 below about a month ago here. Thank God it didn't kill any birds. OEGBs can take anything. The quail are tougher than they look too.[​IMG]

    got -38 10 days ago and lost a silkie hen:-( the rest are all good...
