Hi everyone!

I recently acquired a colombian rock bantam chick at a chicken swap. It was clear that a dad was selling the chicks for his kids who do 4h so he was not sure exact age.

We named the baby Kiwi and have been assuming girl, but not sure. She’s super skittish around other chickens and would much rather follow us around the yard to “help” with chores.

I’m curious if anyone here has any thoughts- pullet or roo?

It really depends on the age here. I’m leaning cockerel, as that comb just looks really big and red, and the body doesn’t look to be as developed as a hen’s would be at that point. Plus I see what *might* be male saddle feathers, the pointy ones in the back. I could be wrong though, they’re sometimes tricky to spot. :)

She was at least 6 weeks when we got her and we’ve had her 4 weeks. She’s minimum 10 weeks old.

I go back and forth everyday. I have seremas that are around the same age and she looks closer to the hens. When we got her she was fully feathered with no baby fluff left.

Do you have photos of her when you got her? We might be able to tell what age she may have been. :)
