Hey guitarist, this is awsome!!! I'm still new to chicken stuff--can you tell me what split is and about the lower and upper case abrevations. Thanks for all of the helpful information.

BB = Splash
Bb = Blue
bb = Black
MM = Solid
Mm = Split
mm = Mottled

Split means that it looks one way but carries the gene for the other...... Looks Black but carries the Lavender gene or Looks Solid but carries the Mottled gene

Of course, once you start playing around with other colors and gene combinations, the squares get HUGE!!! If someone wants to draw up squares for more complicated combinations... I can add graphics.... but I'm not quite ready to tackle larger squares... at least not just yet

Ok, anyone know the genetics for the speckled or mille fleur gene? I would love to see you pull that one off. big_smile

Mille fleur are wild type or brown or wheaten, sex linked gold, columbian restricted and mottled. They may carry mahogany or dark brown also.
