Color of eggs

have a question about my recent egg collection. the Rhode Island red had been laying brown eggs all along, until today. she was in the box and I collected the eggs but her's was white. since this is my first winter with chickens is it something she is not getting or is getting? the egg was normal other than the color.
just looking for info.

Do you have any chickens that lay white eggs? She may have just been sitting on someone else's egg.

It's also possible for an egg to be laid before it gets its colored coating. Just a fluke thing that happens sometimes.

No all the chickens lay brown eggs, which is why it surprised me!
