@intangible04 just curious how your chicks are doing? Are you still having issues?

One other thought, I posted your videos in the Nautral Chicken Keeping Thread, someone was thinking that all the chicks look like they were suffering from being too hot. Do you have a heat lamp in the brooder?

Maybe you can come back and fill us in since you had asked for our help.

Too funny! That is after all the end we usually see.

Victoria is still laying doubles. Crazy chicken. Grandma has not laid a second egg but there are others laying now. Getting about 4 cute little brown eggs a day from them.
I did loose one older hen yesterday. I am thinking it was a combination of things with her. She never laid well so it could have been internal laying or age and heat.
It is ok I am surprised they have lived this long so I expect to find them dropping over now.

My dog has decided that going over the kennel fence is ok. He has been letting himself into the garage during the day. Hooking up the hot wire again to keep him in. Too smart for his own good.

My garden is doing well. The tomatoes are well over 4 foot tall and have loads of tomatoes set on. Flowers are blooming all over the yard. aaaaahhhh summertime

Not looking forward to winter just yet.

Sorry to hear about the one hen but that's great to hear the others are laying. My little dog is also pulling some shenanigans on me (she found a way into the chicken pen). They have to remind us how smart they are every once in a while, I guess.

So, today is the 1 year anniversary of my car accident & looking at the pictures of me 2 days after it happened (I wasn't coherent for a bit after I got to ICU) is pretty strange. But! Mercury laid her second egg & let me pick her up! Today's turning into a red letter day.

What an awesome gift she made for you. Super cool she is letting you pick her up.

It is ok that Apple passed. She was always a bit slower moving than the others and had some oddities about her so I am glad to have had her for the 5 years she lived.

Hope everyones chicks and kitties that were sick are doing better!

Fourteen roosters/cockerals gone today, yay!!! Five four month old packing peanuts went into the freezer, and we, by we I mean my son in law, culled eight Bantam Cochins roosters. They were all colorful boys, but who needs that many roosters!!! Is going to be a lot quieter around here now! Feed should last longer too!

I have decided to sell some of my Gold Laced barnie laying hens to make room for more OE egg layers, please PM me for more info.
