I have heard of a golden comet but I do not think it is the same as a gold star.. At least I haven't found any reliable information stating that.
That site said a "golden sex-link" is a RIR x RIW. Again I don't think that is a gold star, at least I have not found any info to state it is.

Reason I ask is that I know it is a type of gold Sex link I just wan to know what specifically. Elizabeth country corner is selling them in their mar 1 batch of chicks and I may/may not have accidentally ordered 2... I know they are a good layer but I would like to know what they are. There is very little information on them. There are so many types of sex linked chicks too that it seems any info on the gold star has been lost in the shuffle.

C

when i was searching gold star sex link pulled up the info for golden sex link alot. Maybe people call them both names?

Haha! I found it!! I just kept following the links under google images until I found some useful information!

"Gold Star
This bird is a cross between two very traditional breeds, the Light Sussex and Rhode Island Red. They sport beautiful black tail and neck feathers. These birds lay about 300 shop coloured brown eggs in there first year."

Glad you found it. :)

My walls finally arrived at 4 pm. Guillermo did NOT deliver himself and told me he had delivered another shed kit first. After his driver left, he called and asked me to remove the complaint I had filed in Paypal. I told him I would after I had the shed together and was sure it was all correct. He got pretty mad. I told him he had wasted a week and a half of my time waiting for my shed, and now it was his turn to wait. I am positive I would not have walls if I had not filed the complaint. It will remain active until I am satisfied he has delivered everything I need. I am furious that I have now lost a week of perfect weather for building, and according to the weather forecast we are coming into a week of probably not so good weather for building.

I don't think this guy has a clue anyone else's time is important, and I would not do business with him again under any circumstances. He lies with abandon, does not communicate until forced to, and could not care less that I cancelled plans day after day after day waiting for him because he said he was delivering a shed and then didn't, and did not call to tell me so.

My stress level is through the roof, and poor Bob is fretting over every little detail, because that's what he does, bless his heart. Once we actually get going I think we will both feel better. In the best of all possible worlds, we will get the floor done and walls up. In the real world I'm fairly sure we'll get the floor done, walls might be a stretch, but a girl can hope, right? :)

Adam, sex linked layer chicks are just about always a white hen covered by a red or black rooster, and since they are bred for hatch-day sexing, and high egg production in this case, the hen is nearly always a white leghorn or a white rock. If the hen is a leghorn they should begin laying earlier than 6 months, and lay a large egg pretty reliably 5-6 days a week. My unidentified red hen I refer to as a production red may very well be a sex link, she is the best layer in my flock. I get a large or extra large egg almost every day since she started laying in July. She has the light build of a leghorn.

I'm just flabbergasted that he now expects you to take down your complaint with paypal so quickly. That takes balls because even if he did make the materials right, he didn't deliver as promised and the quality of the materials was lacking.

very frustrating. Deep breaths. This too shall pass. at least you know you got his attention. Hopefully it will now go together and you will have a good shed.

Very nice! What brand coop is it?

It is a Precision Pet Products "Extreme" Hen House Chicken Coop. They make a smaller version.

Some notes:
The only airflow is from the coop exit with the ramp, which doesn't come with a door.
We had a split in one of the coop panels but, didn't effect the final product once screwed together.
It takes a single screwdriver to put together, should take about an hour to finish and one person could do it but parts are easier with two.
It is made of a light "wood", the whole thing weighs about 60 pounds
The instructions are terrible.
When putting the roof on the coop, screw the base down before attaching the latches,

There are a few things I would improve on it but, overall, it does the job well.

High 3.5 to low 4.0 star rating.

LOL My exact words when I hung up the phone - "Man, this guy's got some balls!" I mean, he was yelling at me like I was his subordinate or something - I almost reminded him I was the CUSTOMER! Then I thought, why? The ball is in my court now, he can stew and fume all he wants - exactly his attitude toward me. I know I should strive to be the better person, but in this case he has been completely untrustworthy and until I see for myself that all the components fit together correctly, I could not care less how upset he is. The week coming up I am far less likely to be able to take any time off work to help Bob, so the lion's share of what we don't get done today will have to wait for next weekend.

Lets get some members together and get this shed into place. At least walls up and roof on. Then you can work on the particulars. I'm game.

You are too sweet! We'll see where we're at next weekend. I'm probably a good 50 miles South of you, so it isn't just down the road. If by Friday morning I'm in a panic I"ll invite whoever wishes to come help, and buy several pizzas and soda.

has anyone had silkies before? I'm getting 2 in my batch of chicks on fri and was wondering if a 1 gal bucket...like the ones you used to be able to get ice cream in or the ones you can find at walmart around easter...would be big enough for a nesting box for them. I know they can't get up into my nesting boxes so i thought something underneath them on the floor would work for them.
Silkies are adorable! I would think it would be big enough for silkies. Some people use five gallon buckets turned on their sides.
