I wanted to let you guys know, I got an email back from Ideal, they are giving us a refund. That's great I guess, I'm still just sad about the whole thing, we lost a couple more today too.

I would like to see your pictures. Thank you.
I work at a Grand format printer, so I'll probably grab a small crate on my way home tonight.
What is that fine cat litter type of bedding material called? Or what should I used for bedding?

This is what they're in now. It's two boxes nested in each other so I can spread them apart and get more room if needed. The grate on the top is a part of a dog play pen that we disassembled for making our bunny cage.

This is what they move to once they're too big for the box (sorry not alot of detail)

It's like this except it has a floor made from a tarp and one side opens like a door. You can actually kind of see the bigger brooder in the garage in the background.

I'd use wood shavings for the bedding.

Two things:

We have TWO female geese, not just one! YAY!

So that makes it 2 girls and one boy. YAY!!! We got two eggs this morning! So does anyone know, will he mate both of them?

Also, I'm going to be selling chickies tomorrow at the DUH chicken swap, a mix of 2 week old straight run bantams. How much would you sell them for? $3.59 each is the regular price from the hatchery + shipping charges. $0.88 each to raise them so far. So total, at regular price would be $4.47. I can do a really **** good guess on what most of them are, at the very least I can narrow it down to two breeds for most of them. It's still a crap shoot as to whether they are male or female, but is $4.50 asking too little or too much?

"Just sayin....something happens to their little brains somewhere between 3 and 5 weeks old."

I have had newly hatched with 3-week olds and things have been just fine. I was worried too but it worked out.

I would at least start at $5. You should make something on them or what's the point of it all?

I'm looking at chicks and I'm thinking I will start with five. I have an 11 year old so nice chicks is important as this will be her and my venture together. I'm thinking barred Plymouth Rock, buff Orpington, black australorp, Rhode Island Red, and an araucana. We'd get one of each. Does that sound like a friendly good egg laying bunch? Thanks for your input!
Will make for a very colorful egg basket! All are good layers too, so you should have plenty of eggs.
