Pozees- did you ever order from East Coast Silkies? I have a few form her. They had such a hard time tavelling, and i live at 8600ft. Add altitude sickness to shipping stess I was lucky to get 5 to live...then the fox invaded, but thats a different story.

Have a good night all....
We watched the first episode and Chad wasn't profiled much. We will DVR the next episode.

I am not familiar with mining so the first show was interesting.

I posted on FB but thought I would share a couple pictures of our run that we finally completed this weekend. I was wondering if anyone was able to go to the DUS today? I was thinking about going but DH said I should stay away. He was worried I would buy more chicks. We were in Brighton today and noticed the ACE Coop had A LOT of chicks available and they looked to be very crowded and some of the little ones not in the best shape. If anyone needs chicks, clearly they have quite a few available.

And I couldn't resist posting a picture of my golden retreiver posing. He is so darn cute but the main reason we are tying to secure the coop. He is not chicken friendly...although we are hoping to work with him so hopefully the girls may be able to wander in our backyard at some point.

Nice coop and run, yep, sadly some dogs just are not chicken friendly.

7 pips, a lot of rocking eggs and plenty of cheaping going on in the bator at the moment. It is now time for sleep. I will see if any chicks are running around in the morning. Night all.

Horribly sad at the moment, found out we aren't moving til later in the month...the chicks were just getting too big...Sadly I had to give them away...To a good home of course that are thankful for the chicks since all theirs died in a fire that happened in the garage..

GENEVIEVE...a beautiful and energetic leader...barred rock
Lillybell...Adorable beta that was definitely a drama queen....speckled Sussex
Chicken nugget...the quiet sweet omega that was easy to handle and loved to follow her buddies....golden laced wyandotte

No I didn't wind up getting any from her so far. I got 3 chicks from Shylee, eggs from a few breeders, and a breeding group of adults a few weeks ago - Blue cock, 2 Black hens, 2 Partridge hens, and I've been getting 2-3 eggs a day. I've set the eggs and should know in a week how fertility is. When the chicks I hatched in February are older, assuming the ones I think are cockerels are, I'll do some switching around. My main dilemma is what to do with the white that I think is a cockerel. He is a very nice bird, but the only other white I have is the cross beaked pullet, and I am afraid to use her in a breeding program since the crossed beak may be genetic. Time will tell.

Will try to be awake for ICG :)

Three wet chicks running aroung in the bator this morning. I have no idea which other ones have pipped now since the first arriving have rolled over most of the eggs.. should I be worried about this situation. The temp dropped to 97 in there last night also and the humidity is up to 75%, I have read this is normal though. Should I worry about the eggs that have gotten rolled over and around, including the others that have pipped already?
