Colorado

Hi all,

What a gorgeous day today! Worked on the second coop where some meat birds will be housed in the spring. (still determining how many but thinking maybe 50)

Question to folks in the metro/boulder area - do you know of someone who does mobile processing Of poultry?

my goal is to not have to transport the birds when it's their time, but i need help with the whole ordeal.

Any suggestions/referrals are most appreciated!

Which eggs look good? That's great that the NN are developing since that's the whole reason you're hatching.
Two of the eggs from your mum's refrigerator look good and one that was fresh looks good, as in veins and a moving embryo. The rest, I'm not sure what is going on with them. They don't look infertile and they don't have veins or an embryo. I just don't know what I am looking at.
I will candle in three more days and see if I can tell what is going on.

Welcome BBQn
The only processor I know close to Boulder is Long Shadow Farm in Berthoud. They are great people and do a great job processing bird. I have processed and helped process lots and lots of birds there.
I don't know of any mobile processors.
Let us know if you learn of any.

Anyone on the western slope have blue, white or black silkies? My daughter is looking for a pair or trio for 4H. We're willing to drive an hour or two from Grand Junction.

Have you checked with the Colorado Poultry Association? I remember someone looking for Silkies here earlier & I posted a link to their breeder list but I don't remember off hand where the breeders were located. Might be worth looking into.

I went ahead and bought a sign for the front fence:

Hope it generates some sales... I will only have it out there on weekends when I'm home, not full time.
great sign. I hope it works for you. How much do you sell your eggs for?
