Just to boldly insert my 2¢ in here re: accommodation for disabilities. I have had a lot of experience dealing with obtaining and utilizing accommodations, both for myself and disabled clients and the tactic they are using is commonplace. It's "we don't want to deal with you and your accommodations so we will now accuse you of committing fraud or behaving in a fraudulent manner. Mine was "false documentation". Once these accusations have been made and HR is unresponsive, it's basically time to file with the EEOC. Of course, I wouldn't expect much in our current political climate. I'm sure the EEOC is going the way of the DOE, EPA, and the National Park Service any day now. That leaves the Labor Board and finding a way to sue without EEOC sanction. I'm so sorry you are having to go through this, but make them run you off, don't leave if you can stand it. Then go apply for your SSDI since you probably qualify anyway.
It definitely felt like they were trying to pull something shady on me, for sure. I think that's what made me even more angry than I probably would have been. I'm just appalled that people treat others like this. And I too am worried about going forward considering our current political climate.

Very frustrating. Good thing watching chickens is so relaxing! :)

Does anyone in this thread have Welsummers of Dominiques? I am trying to decide between the two and am struggling! I live on the high plains of Colorado, so I do need chickens who can tolerate both heat and cold. Any opinions swaying one way or the other? Thanks!

I have a Welsummer and would definitely recommend the breed. I have a mixed flock of 9 different breeds, and they are one I would have again, especially for dark brown egg layer.

Thanks! It's such a hard decision! I am getting Golden Laced Wyandottes too!

Haha this gives me about 8 weeks until my coop needs to be expanded! Eek!

Lol! It goes quickly, trust me. I started with 5, had a 3rd broody, and when the fertilized eggs I ordered online didn't hatch, I got 8 babies to sneak under her. She accidentally killed one stepping on it, but the other 7 made it and now I have a law breaking 11 hens and a rooster!
I wanted an "accidental" rooster (I ordered all female) to protect them from hawks since trees that used to have been cut down. And he's a Blue Splash Cochin, and I wanted a Cochin rooster, so it worked out. But he's very clumsy at 5 months old and he's damaging some of the combs in the older girls.

Law limits would probably make my boyfriend a little happier lol. Man I hope the rooster gets the hang of it! Does he make much noise?

Ok, newbie question. When I go to pick my chicks up from Feeders Supply will they give me something to take them home in, or should I bring a box or something with me?
