Colourful and Unusual Chicken Eggs!

Haha that makes me think of the Children's book Giggle Giggle Quack. It's about a duck that writes notes for the farmer's brother who is watching them while the farmer is on vacation. He's quite the sneaky duck!

That looks so cool! You’ve only got one breed laying so far and look at what you’re getting already!!

Doubt a 14 week old would be able to lay an egg - Some days my chickens will lay speckled eggs, sometimes they lay plain eggs. I also find when they’re speckled, the overall colour of the egg changes.

No kidding...I always thought that each hen would lsy eggs that all looked the same. Look at the egg she gave me today!

Those are all her eggs (but one my daughter ate that was similar to the smaller light speckled one). Babette is one special little hen!

Those are all from the same hen? Looks like the two in the middle are one hen and the middle two another? Crazy if they’re all from the same hen, I’ve never gotten that much variation from any of mine!

Yes, all from the same hen! I watched her lay of them, except the huge light speckled one, but it looks so similar to the smaller two that she layed the next few days I assume it's hers. Her sister lays one medium brown egg every day around 11:18am like clock work and they have all looked identical except getting slightly bigger each day.

I think it has just became about eggs! We have chickens, quail, now pheasant, where's the duck and geese?

Yep... it doesn’t just have to be chicken eggs. Wow you have quite a range!

I sometimes get variation in colour, especially from a new layer - but never this much!

My olive egger does that too.

All hers as I only have 1 OE.

She once gave me a purple egg too. Top 2 eggs are Wheaten Americauna the bottom 3 are OE.
