Colourful and Unusual Chicken Eggs!

Pics
I'd love to see pictures of who lays what (and I'm also a sucker for adorable chickie pictures!!) ! In the eggs you posted earlier, what kinds of hens do you have other than the Olive Eggers? I love that pink egg, too!

I adore petite hens....and I have a number of bantams. I was actually very surprised at how big my easter eggers were becoming because they are so much bigger than all their flock mates except the older Golden Comets who are already laying - but I don't think it will be long before my two eldest EE's are bigger than them even! That being said, despite their size, my Comets are laying tiny eggs still - though it's just now the end of their first week of laying so I assume they will get bigger over time (I'm told they are supposed to lay xl eggs!)

These are my EE'S. I wish there was a way to know what colours they would lay just based on how how they look but I also love how unique they all are!

Laverne (r) and Opal (l); 13 weeks old. In my head I imagine they will lay blue and grey eggs.

Gilda (in the middle); 9 weeks old. In my head I imagine she will lay brighter green eggs..

Maisie; 9 weeks old. In my head I imagine she will lay darker olive eggs.

Haha...I know there is no actual connection with how an EE looks with the colour of her eggs, but it's fun to imagine in the meantime to see how my predictions turn out!! All for fun!

I love photography, but I’ve been out and over the last two days it’s been overcast and pouring rain. Hopefully I’ll get some photos to post soon! I managed to get a few but the lightings not very good (especially since they were taken in the evening).

I’m thinking it’s the Buff Orpington that laid the pink egg, not 100% sure though because she’s new and I’m still learning to recognise hers.

We have a mixed flock, every chicken is different! :D
It really is a lot of fun. Here’s what we have -

Pullets & Hens:

-Australorp x Araucana (cream eggs)
-Gold Laced Wyandotte (light brown eggs, sometimes speckled)
-3/4 Leghorn 1/4 New Hampshire (cream eggs)
-Wellsummer (light brown eggs)
-Ancona (white eggs)
-Lavender Araucana (blue - aqua eggs)
-Australorp (pink eggs)
-Grey Dorking (white eggs)
-Buff Orpington (pink to very light brown / cream eggs, occasionally speckled)
-3/4 Leghorn 1/4 New Hampshire x Araucana (aqua eggs)
-Araucana x BCM (olive eggs, occasionally speckled)
-Araucana x BCM (green eggs, occasionally speckled)

Roosters:

-Croad Langshan
-Silver Laced Wyandotte

I really like Bantams too, they are so cute.
Interesting your EEs are big, although the standard might be different where depending on where you are. By the way yours are sooo gorgeous! They look so unique - their colors and patterns are beautiful :love
It’ll so exciting to see what they will lay!

Your golden comments have only just started laying, with time, the eggs should get much bigger :)

Here's another shot I took when I got in from the coop.

That's a store bought xl white egg for comparison. A typical brown egg I've been getting from my two Golden Comet pullets, and the new huge speckled one.

Is it possible the speckled egg could have come from the same chicken that laid the brown one on the left? Because if not that means one of my not-quite-14-week-old Easter Eggers must have laid it!!!! I thought I'd have another few months before they started laying!
That looks so cool! You’ve only got one breed laying so far and look at what you’re getting already!! :D

Doubt a 14 week old would be able to lay an egg - Some days my chickens will lay speckled eggs, sometimes they lay plain eggs. I also find when they’re speckled, the overall colour of the egg changes.

Oh and they look huge for first time egg layers! I’ve gotten fairy eggs

I watched one of my Golden Comets, Babette, lay this smler version of my pink speckled egg today. I guess she's just still trying to figure out this whole egg laying thing!

What's interesting is that I have two Golden Comets; Lucille is mostly orange whereas Babette has beautiful white lacing and feather details, so it seems only appropriate that her eggs have delicate white details too! I really hope she keeps laying them like this!
They look so pretty!

So hard to get a picture of this.... cream egg with white spots. It's one of my bantams. And each time I think I know which one the egg shape changes a bit and I question it. My Bantam Cochin layed more round golf balls and my Svart Hona x B Cochin were always egg shaped.
Maybe they both do it here and there. Maybe they are in it together to make me wonder. :gig
Love this!

I find at times egg shape seems to change with my chicken’s too.

My chickens just started laying, I have 4 Barred Rocks 2 Silver Duckwing OEGBs. I thought the first egg was from one of the OEGBs because it was so small but that was wrong they are just small eggs right now, maybe they'll get bigger. I believe I have three layers at the moment!
They’re so cute! I ❤️ the mini ones. They’ll gradually get bigger, since they’ve only just started laying.
