Colourful and Unusual Chicken Eggs!

Pics
I can tell you that your BO will lay a lovely brown egg, not the dark brown type. I have 2 BOs. I also have 1 SLW who should be laying any day now so I can't personally verify her egg coloring. From what I've read they should be a similar brown to the BO egg. Have you posted pics of your chooks anywhere here? I'm sure we'd all love to see them. :jumpy:jumpy:jumpy:yesss:

My Wyandotte & Buff Orpington both lay a light brown speckled egg, except my Orpingtons eggs are even lighter, but have darker speckles

Yes, we would love to see them! :jumpy

Most of these are Welsummer eggs. 2 are Ameraucana, 1 bantam OEGB, and 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte egg. Bottom left corner is either a Welsummer or Red Sex Link. (The only difference is the presence of spots.)
It might just be the picture color being off, but 2 look to be green rather than blue.
I really need to get some Marens and/or Welsummer! I love the look of those eggs.
Your itty bitty banty egg is so cute.
I love all the specks and spots.
You have some very pretty eggs!

Good grief, whoda ever thunk I'd be admiring eggs! Before starting this adventure in November eggs were white and uninteresting.

Thanks, as for the color. Some of her eggs do seem more green than blue. Something to do with the area the pigment has to cover I guess.

Someone’s probably beat me to it but,

Here is a picture of my 3 hens. The Barnevelder is 19 weeks and the SLW is 10 weeks.

Thank you for that information. I have one Barnevelder, one silver laced Wyandotte and one Buff Orphington. I know the Barnevelder lays a darker egg but not sure about the other two.
Orpington and Wyandotte lay similar color eggs, but in my experiences my Wyandotte no matter the variety lay more torpedo shaped eggs, so I can always tell a Wyandotte egg.

Pretty girls you have! I believe the chicken in the last picture looks like it’s featherings more pencilled wyandotte than barnevelder.
