View attachment 1718587 Here is a non glamours pic that shows more- Good wide tail set and poor cushion. far too much. If it's not one thing it's another....this is why we Rock heads need a therapy group. Encouragement to move forward with so many failures happening. All the time...endless failure....hold me.
Buckeyes have similar problems. They do have a tail, not quite so flat, however it needs to be wide and tented without too much cushion, but still a gradual slope.
Most of mine that look wider with all that jazz have a pronounced cushion. -_-
At least the color isn't difficult to maintain.

Probably not ideal, but could you fix that with outcrossing to RIR?

Nope. They probably have similar problems. Plus their tail angle is actually lower.
Breeding to some actual decent stock would be nice. Ok, I'll shut up now. This is about Rocks. :duc

it is nice to know this flock has potential even though I’m not a big time breeder and the only show I go to is the county fair lol

I did order some chicks from Cackle before I had considered trying to have exhibition quality birds :barnie

Here’s some tail pictures

You ordered Columbian Rock bantam chicks from Cackle? I was curious about those and ordered some this year. What did you wind up with on them? I was hopeful because the Barred Rock bantams I'd got from them previously were decent enough.
