Columbian wyandottes

Sure hope your hatching season in the CW. In the 30 years of raising them I have never had a year where they were not fertile and popping out like made. I usually have 5 or so roosters to work with but this year I have lost two of them and down to one really good male one who is 4 and one who needs his head chopped. To bad some of us were not closer so we could exchange birds once in a while.

That would be great to swap birds indeed! I got your PM and will send a reply in a while. Trying to get a bunch of stuff done before the snow hits again and before family comes in from Louisiana tonight. Just wanted to let you know so you don't think I'm ignoring you!

Vicki, you and Rob are close enough to meet half way for a switch. Best I could do is mail eggs when they start laying again in a few weeks.
I wish, but that's 17 hours and some change for a whole trip, so even divided thats still a hefty chunk of time. I think down your way its probably about a 7 hour drive the whole way, so dividing that would not be out of range for a short day trip at all.

I am in Idaho so driving to NE or OK is just way out the question. Sending hatching eggs could be a possibility at some time in the future.

If any of you know of anyone in the US or Canada that is raising Standard Columbian Wyandottes I would really like to be able to contact them. I have been building a small data base of breeders for breeders. Only way to build the breed is if we can communicate with each other about our line, where or whom we received our start from, and share ideas on breeding. Please feel free to send me any info to my e-mail address. [email protected]

Thanks for passing on the info...
Rob

I will do some asking around for ya

Hey Rob,

I forgot to add on that email I sent back to you that the bantams are Dave Lefeber and a Milton out of MN. I have his card and some health papers, but need to dig through my breeder files to find the name for sure.
