Yesterday I noticed when my Rhode Island Red hops into my lap and lays down, her comb starts to turn pale. But then once she's walking around again her comb turns back to red. I thought this was a little odd but I didn't look too much into it. Now today I noticed she had a sore on the top of her comb and a dark red spot (almost like a blood blister) in the fold of her comb. She is still acting completely normal and nothing has changed about her behavior. I just hope shes okay. Any advice?

This picture was taken yesterday after she had been sitting in my lap for about 10 minutes

This picture was taken today right when she laid down in my lap. Notice the sores and red spot.

And lastly this picture was taken about a minute after the one above. Notice the color change. (She is also panting, but it is hot out)

If anyone has any information or advice please share it!!
Thankyou:)

It looks like the start of fowl pox to me. I don't know a lot about it, but I'll see if I can post some more info after I do some research :)

no, egg production is the same. this is the first day it has been there though

How is she doing today Have the spots gotten better/worse?

If it's fowl pox, and she's just now showing signs, her egg laying may not be effected yet. Fowl pox lasts a few weeks long, and will clear up on it's own. It behaves pretty much the way human chicken pox does. Just make sure she gets extra vitamins and electrolytes while she has the spots, and watch the rest of your flock for symptoms since it's pretty contagious.
