Day 14, work has been keeping me really busy so hard to believe hatch is only a week away. Don't know about these americauna/EE eggs. Most are very porous and as far as I can see have extra large air cells and only a couple look lively. There are a couple I can't really see into very well. But will leave them be and see what happens. I can actually see a bit more in the Marans now than I could before. I can at least see the air cells and in some there are shadows, at least a couple are lively. Of course all 7 of my banty cross eggs are jumping for joy; big difference between their air cells and the EE's too.I'm thinking that the porous shells are letting too much evaporate too fast. This is only my second hatch so I"m still real new at this. But for future reference if I had another batch of porous shelled eggs I would try and up the humidity around them. perhaps set them in a foam carton with the lid on; I"m not sure the best way to do it if I had better shelled eggs in with them, so that the humidity wasn't too high for the others.
I will send the breeder a note after hatch and let them know tho. I know many things concerning eggs are inherited but I'm not sure if porosity is genetic or environmental; could just be their feed.
