luls i have 3 huge brooders now. Ultrabator will easily hold 300 eggs for the time being so i wont have to rush like i thought

Congrats on your hatches! Awsome!! I would love to see some pics of your brooders. We have more chicks hatching than we have brooder space for, I have some small ones set up indoors but have run out of room. I could use some ideas on how to brood them outdoors.

All our brooders are in the spare room in the house, mainly so i didn't have to heat the barn. 4'wx6'Lx2'h 2 4x8 sheets of plywood 2x4 frame around the top and 2x2's to attach the sides and bottom.

I moved my last four outside onto the back patio at 2 1/2 weeks, I have them in an unused metal horse trough with a big
comforter wrapped around it and over the open top. I have two heat lamps on top of a wire frame at one end
so that fresh air can get in at that end. Most of the brooder is wrapped up though.

the only thing is that we aren't really experiencing temps below 52 degrees, my system can maintain at about 82 degrees
in the brooder with 52 degrees outside. Daytime temps are much higher.

When these new 47 hatch I plan to use the same brooder but lower the lamps a little so that they can run directly under
the lamps for their heat fix as needed.

How many babies do you have in there??? We have a small 2x3x2 brooder that I thought we were running out of room in. We currently have 5 in there, but have 5 more we are adding by the end of the week. Then in the next two weeks we will have 23 more to add... so we need something bigger!!!

up to 100 in each without issue with 2 lamps tho. 1 lamp 50-60 max

How long do you keep that many in there?? Sorry, we are new to hatching, adn I was sitting here thinking that our little brooder is way too small for the amount of chicks we are going to have!

I start phasing them out at 2-3 weeks to the bigger chick brooder. by 5-6 weeks i aim to have them in the growout pen with the bantams
