Come Hatch along with Us!!! Setting Oct12-Oct 20th

I'm in. I just set 23 eggs late on Oct. 14th. I love having hatch buddies.

Mine are all mixed from my layer flock I have an English Orphington roo over a variety of girls.

I set 17 dozen eggs (a few were broken so I think I put 201 eggs in, but not sure) on the 13th. They are BR and RIR eggs. I have a Natureform NOM45 incubator. This is my second atempt with this bator. The first time I set it right after I bought it and didn't check the temp. after starting it up. I just asummed everything was good, but the temp gage was off. But it does seem to be holding steady temps., I just had to adjust it down a bit (it says it it is 88 degrees but it is really 99). So hopefully all goes well this time, because I lost a lot of eggs because of that.

Sillycitygirl is right it wont hurt the eggs. Brinsea has even put a bator out now that has an off setting that you can ajust so your eggs are like that of the hens sitting ,.,,on most of the time off some of the time. So its fine,.Onl yin lockdown should it be kept shut and not opened unless you really have to

Ok my eggs got here today. 18 BBS Orps
...She said she posted them on Thursday.... said they were 1-3 days old....so thats between 5-7 days old at least now PLUS .
Fertility wont be as good.
Then shipped from NY to Mo ...not good.
I candled when they got in ..and found 2 look as if there is a 19 day old baby in there!!! ALL DARK
and one is sort of wonky looking so i am setting them in a different bator. in case of an explosion.!!
I will set them later today .not leting them sit for 24 hours ...too old now to do that..
The other 15 look ok ithink
A few had some pretty big air cells
