I think I’m upset that I told the assistant manager that we weren’t getting chicks this year and he disregarded what I said. Repeatedly. That’s more irritating than anything else! Unfortunately when my spouse saw them, that was it. Six tiny, dirty babies screaming their heads off...I would have caved in.

I just hope the stimulus checks arrive soon. I’m really worried about finances. That wasn’t figured into my budget.

That’s so cruel. Chopping their heads off with scissors would be faster, easier, and far less cruel. Why would she want to torture the poor things. They are so lucky you took them in. It may have thwarted your plans, but maybe you will have just found the best chicks ever.

I completely agree! Though no chick is safe like that, bantams are especially fragile. I swear a wrong look can kill a bantam chick sometimes.

I also hope they live happy lives for as long as they live! Three are buff, but the buff silkies are pretty. Just hope the mystery chick is comfortable—she may not live the day.

I’ll take some pics when I head over for my shower.

I could try? I’m pretty sure my spouse is smitten. I hopefully have federal tax coming in and the stimulus check, so we’ll be okay after that.

We also rescued a dumped off cat that has spent weeks in the cold. She goes in for a spay on Tuesday which will hopefully fix the “may be pregnant” issue. She doesn’t get along with our cats, so if she doesn’t calm down after the spay, she’s going to need to find a new home. I’m upset about that too.

I also started a new medication and I’m all a mess and just want to cry...so I’m guessing that’s not helping.
