Common quail chick

Sadly, in my country, wildlife department is very lazy or maybe not much taken care of. This department isn't developed much, and people take advantage of this and hunt a lot of birds including partridges quail ,common quail, grey francolin, black francolin , you rarely see a bird on your farm.

Hi guys! Today my neighbours boy came home and gave me this lill chick.

He told me that they had gone to their farmhouse today and found this chick alone, they tried to find its mother, but couldn't find its mother or its siblings. They couldn't even find its nest. So they took it home. They are inexperienced with birds so he took it to me as he knew i keep quails. Well i keep coturnix japonica while this baby is of coturnix coturnix, the common quail which is very small than Japanese quails. This baby looks like 4-5 days old, it has grown feathers and wings. But it is still very tiny. It is sleepy and chirping a lot. Standing still. Doesn't eat. My chicks aren't ready to accompany her. So it is all alone. What should i do now with this tiny alone sleepy chick.?? Any kind of advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Its lonely thats why it's not eating hold it so it doesn't feel so lonely feed from your hand put a little food in your hand put the bird there and let it eat and make it a little cave so it has a place to hide so it doesn't feel so exposed

out of curiosity, what country are you from? Here in Canada you wouldn’t be able to keep a wild bird for longer than 24 hours before releasing it or passing it onto wildlife rehabilitators. Most of whom don’t handle anything smaller than raptors anyways, so they have to go back where you find them. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Seeing as this one is precocial and is eating well on its own, I don’t know that it would be a bad thing to put it back in the general area it was found. The parents probably aren’t around anyways so not like you have to find a nest to return it to... :) you’ve got it up and going again which is probably all it needed, just a boost and it can continue on its merry way. Lol.

I asked the chick if she knew any of those birds on the screen, and she just shook her head. IMG20200824213434.jpg IMG20200824212709.jpg

Rehabilitation centers are mostly in big cities, and not many of them. So people generally manage such situations themselves.

Quail chicks' diet in the wild is pretty much just insects, which explains why it'll only eat them.
Yeah, but it wasn't a quail, more like a lapwing. Not even related to quail. Wild quail eat seeds because they mostle breed in season when millet or when wheat is harvested so they find plenty of seeds there.

Yeah, lapwings and sandpipers feed on bugs and crustaceans, though there are a few that are omnivorous to some extent, taking seeds and shoots as well as invertebrates, but majority are carnivores. As for the Andalusian Buttons, they inhabit warm grasslands or scrub jungles and feed on insects and seeds, though primarily on insects.
