What a beautiful place you all live, I bet those girls think they have died and gone to duck heaven. lol... So happy to hear how well they are learning their new home and pond. And maybe some dried meal worms would help them warm up a bit faster. or some thawed little green peas. I'm thinking they would be eating out of your hands before long.Tomm will be one week since the girls arrived at the farm and yesterday was another good day. We made a trip to the pond and everyone stayed in a bit longer. The rouens made a beeline for it once they saw the water. The Pekins still needed a little coaxing but once in they did great. Our goal is to do this everyday to give them exercise and to get them into the routine. While they are a tad standoffish, they are getting more used to us being around it seems. So overall it's been a success.

What makes you think that? This time of year we come and go, I was off most of yesterday and had to play catch up and have my favorite posters subscribed to so I can keep up. Rescues I especially like since I have a few myself and know how meaningful it is for me and for them. Looks like your weather is beginning to change for the better. Here too. I hope you start getting eggs soon then you'll have to let us know how you liked them[if you plan to eat them that is] I love baking with duck eggs.Thanks. We have been here about 3 years and although north east ohio isn't our dream location we love the property. We are south west of Youngstown. Meal worms and kale were not a big hit with the girls for some reason. We will try again. Sticking their heads in the pond and eating all the goodies in there was a huge hit lol. Whatever they were eating they loved it. They also liked just preening themselves in the sun after their bath in the pond.
I guess since you are the only one commenting anymore I ****** everyone else off lol

That is very good. and to know where their pen is and seek it out is also very good. Hopefully they will lay their eggs in there too so you won't have to go on egg hunts everyday.Must have been too cold for the ducks today. They went out hit the water then right back to their pen lol. In just a week they are looking better and walking better. So that's good
