Composite decking ramp - complete failure so far, need advice

I found a box of texture material for steps in a hardware spotre maybe Lowes it was long ago.
.Its dry you just add it to paint how ever thick you wanted the rough finish.it was like a pint or a little bigger box .but sand would work too

Thanks for all the comments. With as high and angled as our ramp is, I don't think any sort of traction additive would have worked on the composite board. It was simply too steep for our bantam cochins with their stubby feathered legs. I returned the composite deck board (6' x 5 5/16ths") to Menards and got some cedar. The old ramp that rotted away was just cheap pine I think. The new cedar one is 8 inches wide and has rungs that are screwed on from the bottom with coated screws that should hold better than the nails of our first ramp. I believe my husband also used some wood glue, but I'm not sure if it was necessary. I'm hoping this one will hold up a lot better with the better materials and construction.

You mean they took the board back with chicken poop all over it? lol ......No seriously looks good and that cedar should last for years.

Hah, it was so steep and slippery that no chicken could stand on it long enough to poop!
