As I mentioned somewhere on this thread; even if his CV is completely legitimate there is nothing that suggests he has money. Doctors don't get instantly rich (but may have huge debt) I'm guessing beauty pageants aren't that lucrative.

I could see somebody like this having a bunch of wealthy women lined up to mooch off of. He might well show up at the book signing and give her the weekend of her dreams. (wink wink)

Of course my theory is predicated on it being the real Dr. Ivan who is communicating with "Jane".

Did anybody notice on his website the pictures of him hunting with his dad and/or brother?

Finally, I'm a little embarrassed to be so intrigued by this whole thing. : )

I get it love, but odds are he'll no-show or that it'll be his cousin igor who looks like an igor. I have a dear friend, she met, married and procreated with a guy who basically made up his entire college/work history. Ever see the movie accepted? he did that back in the 90's made up a college that sounded like a real school, made up a fake college webpage, a few small dot.com companies that "failed in the dot-com crash" so there was no more company to confirm work history with etc. When they met they both had solid 100k jobs (based off the phoney degrees/work histories, he was put in charge of projects, so he could delegate off his work while making it look like he was just managing the team). once the kid was born he decided that there should be a parent at home, quit and sponged off her for years, now she's paying his allimony.

Now to be fair he could be some sort of superfan who loves her writing and has found his intellectuial soulmate... but if that's the case, she needs to play the lottery too.

Dar what if she saw this thread? I know she would prob be super angry with you but do you think maybe it would sink in that SO many others are suspicious too? Just a thought. I mean she can't say we are all jealous, except for maybe RedHen!

In one of his interviews he says he's from Meadville Penn. and that he has a brother and Dad. There is no listing for him in any data base as to have ever lived in Meadville, Penn nor anyone with that name. In looking over the nationwide content with his first and last name, there is zero listings in any data base as to being legit. The Mister USA was started in 2007 by a guy trying to get publicity. It is one of a whole bunch of pagents just trying to get money from unsuspecting people. On a few of his other sites that I didn't put up, it looks like it may be a front for prostitution, there's a lot of them out there. In a few sites when interviewed during the 2008 Mister USA, he said he was in his 4th year of medical school (not to be confused with a true degreed Dr of medicine, read the whole bio and do research) and that at that time he was 24 years old. Kinda funny, in describing himself as looking for placement in the medical field, he describes himself as 'hot' and would be a great accessory for any employer. Really?

My oldest son is in the medical field. He's owned/opperated ambulances, taught at a well established hospital and college, trained lots of people. I have a cousin whom is a chiropractor. My sister works at a pharmacy. All are qualified to say that they work in the medical field. All can say that they went to school. In another article, it said he took another guy's place for the 2010 Mister USA contest when the other backed out. Has he mentioned this to your friend? Also, you can do a timeline after googling to compare what he said he is doing. She should invest the 15 dollars to do a better background check on this guy. Every red flag is flying. Maybe if she gets mad enough at you to want to prove you are wrong, she will. But pagents take a lot of money, and how is he paying for all these trips? If he begs during interviews that he LOVES wine and wants to be invited to all the parties (yet doesn't drink so much to get drunk), geeze, all the characteristics of a paid professional. Dare her to prove you wrong and stand strong expecting her to be very upset.

I had a similar story, actually, that happened to me a while back. Very similar. The truth came out when I was watching "America's Got Talent" and saw "him" performing live. So then I called him, talked a bit casually, then said "turn on ___." He went silent, and said "I've been meaning to mention that to you....." I cut him off with "I have no time for dishonesty. Do not call me again." And never talked to him again.

Thanks...it was actually going on for a year. I had never heard of that person, mostly because it was just the pictures being used, not the name. Same shebang -- facebook page, whole bunch of friends on there leaving comments, etc. And you know what? Four years later, I get a friend request from someone I never knew (I assumed it was a Farmville thing...oh, I don't play anymore, so don't even ask...hehe). But I'd get weird comments and messages. Finally, when this guy said "the little guy misses you....why don't you give him a call?" I wrote back. It seems that the guy who tricked me ALSO tricked this other guy, only showing pictures of me and saying I was his ex. And the guy had a son ("the little guy" who missed me). So the guy who conned me added me to this alter ego he had, and I learned that my pictures were on his page, labelled with my name, and something like "oh, I miss him....but he cheated on me."


Yep, there are some weirdos out there.

ETA -- this was a few years ago, so it was actually Myspace...NOT Facebook...that he used to find me. But then that random person found me on Facebook, thinking I used to date the made-up guy....oh, it was such a mess!!!
