concerned for a friend personal safety & $ **update pg 17**

I don't think calling the authorties would help here because there was no crime being committed. Its more like a buyer's beware kind of thing.

RUN the other direction like the others are saying. Unless you want to let her learn her lesson, she is old enough to make her own decisions.

Aqua I just wanted to thank you for coming forward with your story. We all hear about this sort of thing happening but it rarely "see" it first hand. I am sorry you were hurt by some lying slime ball. Maybe you should talk to Darlenes friend!

Here is a funny for you all... I have a teenage son. He spends time online but has always been supervised. Well he will be a JR in HS next week so we are making the big step of getting him his own computer for his room. He has never given us a reason not to trust him but I gave him the "speech" any way. Besides his Dad is in to Worlds of War Craft, he is in his late 40s. He took my son with him to meet one of these players 5 hours away. I told DS that I didnt feel this was smart because you never really know who is behind a screen name and please do not consider doing that on your own. He is not allowed a FB account in hopes of avoiding that among a few other things. Anyway....

2 weeks from now I have a handful of BYCers that I have never met face to face (but have been friends with here/phone/mail for about 3 years) coming to my house for a girls weekend! SOOOOO my son says Mom, excuse me but whats the difference?

Well the young man has a point! So the only answer I had was this... Do you really think that if we were going to lie to be anything we wanted to be we would choose to be middle aged. middle class, chicken raising , married mothers!!

Truthfully though I did go into more details after the "smarty" answer I gave him, but he did have a point!

Did the people he meet turn out to be who they said they where???
I have acully met other gamers and other BYC'ers all in a public place.
It was a group thing where all of us from the guild meet up say at Mc Donalds in such and such town.

My hubby met his guild from Everquest in Vegas several times when he played that. Never met the WoW crowd. Seems they were all a bunch of 30/40 somethings... If you are going to meet - meet in a very public place. I'm trying to hook up with a couple of BYC people today. One I have met the other never.

Oh no sweetie! I added his age to imply that he should know better and didnt feel it was OK to take our son with him. You may be right , it may (and hopefully was) a public place. I didn't get any other details about this meeting, my son knew I was unhappy about it. As a side note, just to add a tad more intrigue, my exs screen name and character is female! SO maybe HE was the one that turned out to be something other than the other guy thought he was!! I did not mean to offend you AT ALL. Sorry!

AND I know that still doesnt excuse the fact that I have "inter net " friends coming to my house!

Natalie, Natalie, Natalie!! YOUR presence will be missed in 2 weeks!
