Confused about the Feb 17th digital conversion

If you are receiving DirecTV or DISH or cable TV, you already have a digital signal and will NOT need a converter box. If you have a TV with rabbit ears antenna, you WILL need a converter box. My DH worked for Scientific Atlanta, now bought out by Cisco, and tested and repaired this type of equipment.

The converter boxes are not expensive. The govt is giving out 2 coupons per household that are good for $40 off of any box. We have no cable or sat dish up north, so I got one for there, and I also got one to use with a little 9 inch tv that we have here at home by the computer. Neither ended up costing more than $10. It's not a rebate, you apply for the coupon online

and you receive it in the mail and take it to Radio Shack or WalMart or where ever you want and buy the thing.
Rick says that we didn't need the second one for the little tv, but it's also the tv that we normally take along (with rabbit ears) in our camper or van when we travel, so we would need to have something to use for signal then.
Along the same lines, but diverting a little...tomorrow we are getting AT&T's new service called UVerse. We currently have Comcast cable and hate the way the Comcast people act as if they are the only game in town and we have to just put up with constant rate increases, etc. Does anyone else have Uverse, and how do you like it?
