Do Orpingtons take longer to mature than other breeds or is it just because the other boys were the dominant boys for so long that he hasn’t acted or?? Cause Jack is still terrified of the girls and doesn’t mate or even crow. Runs away if they look at him sideways. 😂🤣 not that I care or anything, he can take his time, I’m just wondering if he’s normal or not haha he’s 5 months old. Maybe now with Red gone he will step up? Or maybe the other boys were just early bloomers and Jack is more normal?

Funny story about Red. My hens have always been somewhat lazy butts and often sleep in pretty late, don’t usually lay until the afternoon, etc. Well, Red always crowed at exactly 5:45 (or sometimes 6) in the morning and got their lazy butts out of bed :lau 🤣🤣

Jack and Wilma all grown up. 😭😭

Jack finally mated a hen today. :lau

Only his girlfriend/hatch mate Wilma but still.

Now if only he would crow and stop being scared of the other girls. :lau
