Connecticut Chicken Stock

I know this may be a little tacky but is anyone interested in culling a bird and
sharing methods. We could do it as a small group as I know some won't want
anything to do with it. I do have 2 roos that are ready for the soup pot. Our
freezer is full.

If so, I'll bring my turkey fryer/scalder and implements of destruction.

Or I can just bring the fryer and we can make loads of french fries & fried
chicken.

when hubby was 30 he had to do a liquid diet on a sunday. super bowl sun. with his team playing. they said anything you could see through, he insisted over and over he could see through his beer!

I can bring veggie dogs and burgers. I'm currently not eating meat until I know if I can kill and process myself. It's a self preservation thing I'm going through. By the way, anyone process chickens that can give me some lessons?

alright if anyone is gonna do any processing i need a heads up, ok? my 11 year old declared herself a vegatarian last week (i'm hoping it's a phase) and she's on some strong meds this week for poison ivy. processing and meds would NOT be a good combo, i'm dead serious on this.

I would be interested in learning how to do it. I know someday I will have to eventually, and I would rather see it up and close then reading about it, that way I don't do it wrong. Oh and I can deffently go for those french fries adn fried chicken, yum

If MooseHill's place is large enough for us to process without others seeing what's going on, I would love to learn first hand! I agree with PP, I'm doing tons of reading and looking at paying someone to do this for me. What I really need is for someone to show me in person and let me see if I can actually do this. My original request was just to inquire about friends of friends who do this.

We definately wouldn't want to upset any kids or ruin the happy mood of the
Chickenstock. First time processing can be "weird".

We could always have a processing party at a later date. Drumstick and I would
be willing to drive out to the eastern part of the state. We are no experts but
we are up to at least 26 culled birds now.

It would be a BYOR party. Bring.Your.Own.Roosters

Hmm, not a bad idea. My broilers should be ready to go in about four weeks. The roos will be longer, there's a jersey giant who is 8 weeks old and straight run of buckeyes that are 2-3 weeks old.
